Structure of the CIR dye
✔ High near IR radiation (780nm~1500nm) absorption ability
✔ High transmittance for visible light
✔ Solubility and durability can be adjusted by choice of “R” and “X”.

3. Heat Resistance (CIR-RL)
b* indicates color change over time.
The larger the b* is, the more yellowish films are.

7. Examples of application of the CIR dyes
As near IR absorption dye
1. For stabilizer of recording dyes used in CD-R media
― As a quencher against activated oxygen that oxidizes the recording dye
2. Inks for printed materials readable by IR ray ― Not visible by human eyes
3. For optical filters on the surface of plasma display panels― The panels radiate IR ray that causes malfunction of remote controllers.
As heat absorber
1. For material of heat accumulation/insulation textile― winter clothes, ski wear
