Flexible endoscopes often are contaminated with growing biofilms due to their complex construction.

Critical areas can‘t be mechanicly cleaned of biofilms with cleaning brushes. Some

endoscopes don‘t offer the access to albarran-, air- or waterchannel.

From time to time an intensive cleaning program of the channel system is recommended. The manufacturer

OneLife from Belgium developed a proofed system for this. Based on enzyme – cleaning components

Catching of small polyps is an easy act with polypt traps. Positioned between supply tube of an

endoscope and suction pump it stopps the sucked in polyp in an integrated net. The single chamber trap

Transport logistics for med. devices

The transportation of medical devices can be perfectly presented with the example of flexible endoscopes which are

used in various departments of hospitals and local medical specialists. Besides the gastroenterology and the

pulmonology, ENT medicine, anaesthesia and the urology, flexible equipment will also be set up in emergency rooms for

flexible intubations. Latest BSG guidelines stated ‘The endoscope tray and the mobile trolley will itself need to undergo a

decontamination process.’ This perfectly matches with our system compatible to many others such as CleanaScope

and both tray and cart can be reprocessed even in modern cart washer/disinfectors.

Users have to organize and document the storage, transport to the place of use, handling after use, the re-transport to the

re-processing department as well as the re-processing itself. The main idea is to ensure a closed transport of medical

products, what is also required by the government, to avoid any kind of threat to patients, users and third persons.

Instructions can be found in the infection protection law as well as medical regulation. Additionally a specialist knowledge

for re-processing is required.

Many special departments relocate the re-processing and the storage of rarely used special devices to the central

sterilization (CSSD) increasingly.

The core competence of the CSSD is re-processing (cleaning, decontamination, disinfection, packaging, sterilization) of

medical goods. A complete documentation of every single processing result, even transparency lasting for years, round

Endo – Liner is designed to protect the prepared endoscopes against

contamination (particles, micro-biologic contamination) until use. Furthermore patients, users and third parties

are protected against biological contaminations due to used endoscopes on their way to the CSSD etc.

to make a clear distinction between disinfected endoscopes and contaminated ones, Endo – Liner is made

up of two separated foli bags. Green for cleaned endoscopes – red for contaminated ones.

Straight with the motto: “green it’s clean – red it’s bad”.

The usage is descripted illustrated as follows:

Open up the package of the Endo – Liner and take note of the illustrated

brief instruction.

Open up the transparent film bag and slide in the complete tray. Close the

bag with the adhesive strip. Every critical point of the tray is now completely

Put the prepared endoscope into the cleaned and disinfected tray.

Please insert the red film to the endoscope within the transport bag and

The usage is descripted illustrated as follows:

Open up the package of the Endoseal Bag and spread out

the transparent film.

Put the prepared endoscope into the cleaned and disinfected tray.

Put in the transparent film together with the endocope into

the transport bag with the green imprint upwards.

Tape the bag with the attached adhesive strip.

The simple adhesive strip can be easily removed before the usage

of the endoscope.

The endoscope is now ready for the transport and can be loaded into a tray for example.

The used and contaminated endoscopes will be put into the Endo-Liner tray as

shown in the following illustration :

Use the transparent film for additional protection of contamination

due to the used endoscope.

Put the contaminated endoscope into the protection film.

Put in the transparent film together with the endoscope

into the transport bag with the red imprint upwards.

Now tape the bag with the second attached adhesive strip.

Put the sealed bag with the red side upwards into the tray

The tray is now ready for the transport and can be loaded into the transport trolley.

Tip:

As known from many of our customers, the compact trays of many manufacturer do fit into our Endoseal Bags,

which allows a more confident transport. The bag encloses protectively the whole tray!

Latex

Latex is the white milk running out the bark of the tropical rubber tree Hevea Brasiliensis after scoring the bark of it.

After passing an elborate curing process it turns to natural rubber. The elastic polymer obtained offers by its condition

compared to other materials the best characteristics to manufacture medical gloves. Latex gloves are comfortable due

to ist elasticity, have a very hig tensile strength and provide good grip and have a maximum sense of touch. They

offer a good protection against microorganisms such as viruses or bacteria. All offered disposable examination gloves

Vinyl

PVC, all other called vinyl, is a shortcut for Polyvinyl chlorides, it is the product of the polymerising of Chloride

Monomer (VCM). It doesn´t contain any latex proteins. Vinyl is cost-effectively in the manufacturing process but the

The German Society of Infection Control (DGKH) defines the use of gowns taking

the following aspects into consideration:

- gowns, used as personel protection equipment (PPE) agaist bio-burden

(blood, germ, virus, parasites etc.), have to fulfill the requirements of

DIN EN 14126.

- Gowns have to protect the front body against fluids an must be resistant against

mechanical influences.

- In case that a gown also must insolate, it has to be long enough to protect most of the body,

also have to be safely closed on the back, resistant against mechanical influences, and

finally long sleeve with cuff.

- The cuff needs to coat the wrist safely.

- Product features, such as fitting, material weight, skin feeling, wearing comford etc

are essential criteria as well as the price.

- The color has no infuence on the characteristics.

Insitumed continously is controlling the gowns at an neutral institution. Results and certificates

can be supplied against request.

In general just gowns with minimum criteria can be counted as a personal protection

equipment. Visitors gowns with light weight material are not PPE and are a risk for the
