1 INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this document is to capture all installation requirements enabling Squire Technologies to pre-configure and commission the unit before installation of the unit at the customer’s site. This reduces the time of interconnect and ensures that the equipment is shipped with the correct hardware and software configuration.
If the information given in this document is not correct additional time may be needed to reconfigure the equipment during installation. Squire Technologies reserve the right to charge for any extended time that is required to investigate and reconfigure the equipment.

1.1 TDM NETWORK SYNCHRONISATION
It should be noted that unless special arrangements have been taken with Squire Technologies, all TDM equipment connecting to the SVI will be synchronised to the same clock. If all systems are not synchronising off the same clock then the system will not operate correctly.

3.2 PRODUCT ARCHITECTURE
The SVI can be installed in a number of different configurations depending on requirements. Three main components make up a complete SVI system.

3.2.1 SVI COMPONENTS
3.2.1.1 SVI-SS
The SVI component contain all of the control functions that deliver the service.
3.2.1.2 SVI-MS
The SVI-MS provides the configuration interface to the GUI.
3.2.1.3 Database
The Database contains the relevant configuration, call records and statistics. If purchased this will also contain the billing.

3.2.2 SINGLE PLANE
The single plane compact unit is a non-redundant architecture with all components on a single server.
3.2.3 REDUNDANT ARCHITECTURE.
The redundant plane architecture provides a high availability environment using an active hot-standby redundant pair. Each unit has its own IP address and the service IP addresses are provided by a VIP (Virtual IP) address which is controlled by the current worker unit.
The VIP address which is shared between the two units must be in the same subnet

For larger systems with heavy Database usage the SVI-MS and SQL components are put on a separate servers from the SVI.

4 VOIP END POINT INFORMATION
The unit will be shipped with a default SIP and a default H323 end point providing a simple class 4 service. The following allows for the user to specify a more detailed requirement.
4.1 VOIP SERVICES
This section is to define the VoIP Services that are to be run on the SVI. The following details the VoIP Services that can be configured on the SVI.
4.1.1 CLASS 4
This provides standard Class 4 routing functionality. The bandwidth column should specify the maximum number of simultaneous calls for this service.
4.1.2 CROSS BORDER CONTROL
This service provides the ability to route VoIP traffic across different IP subnets to provide cross border control. The bandwidth column specifies the maximum number of calls that require this service.
4.1.3 REGISTRAR
This service allows for SIP and H323 end points to register with the SVI. The bandwidth column should specify the forecasted number of subscribers.
4.1.4 BILLING
This service provides pre and post billing services on the SVI.

12.1 INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS
The following must be completed by the customer prior to installation of the SVI;
1. Correctly rated power supply as per table above.
2. Unit must be earthed either through power supply or external ground bonding point (-48V systems must have external earth at all times).
3. PCM cables, Squire Technologies do not install PCM cable infrastructure, it is the responsibility of the customer to provide these, as per section 12.2. To ensure correct cabling if possible these should all be BERT tested for a period of 24 hours prior to installation.
4. Power breakers are advisable to protect the unit, these should be equivalent to AC Category D.

12.2.1 PCI TDM SIGNALLING CARD
For small TDM only products the M1800 PCI card is used. This provides 8 TDM interfaces on 4 RJ 45s. Section 11.3 shows the pin out of the RJ45 connectors
12.2.2 PCI TDM VOIP SIGNALLING CARD
For TDM and VoIP products VoIP signalling cards are used. This card provides 8 TDM interfaces across 4 RJ45s. Section 11.3 shows the pin out of the RJ45 connectors.
12.2.3 CPCI TDM SIGNALLING CARDS
In the 8000 model for larger bandwidth interconnects the cPCI TDM signalling card provides 16 TDM interfaces over 8 dual TDM interface RJ45 connectors.
12.2.4 CPCI TDM AND VOIP SIGNALLING CARDS
For larger deployments of TDM to VoIP conversion the cPCI TDM and signalling card provides 16 TDM interfaces split over 2 octal RJ21 connectors.

13 DELIVERY SPECIFICS
Please note that all units shipped by Squire Technologies are equipped with shock timers. This is in case of the event of damage to the unit whilst in transit. This makes it possible to trace when and where the damage occurred.
