Established in 1941 Thermo Electric ("TE”) has been the Design Leader and Premier Manufacturer of Industrial Temperature Sensors serving customers throughout the world. For over 70 years The "TE” logo has been associated with every processing industry and boasts an historic legend of design applications second to no other manufacturer of temperature sensors.
Since its inception Thermo Electric has worked with major corporations and world-wide process engineering rms to assist in the development and evolution of their specic sensor designs for the broadest range of industrial applications. Its manufacturing capabilities are supported by an outstanding and truly global cadre of technical engineers and a well-trained and seasoned staff of professional technicians. Both have developed their skills and technical knowledge over many generations.
Recent History
On January 1st, 2005 a newly constituted Thermo Electric Company, Inc., a Delaware Corporation, managed by a new Board of Directors and Management Team reorganized the physical assets and intellectual property of Thermo Electric Co. Inc. (a New Jersey company) with the goal of reinvigorating the business activities of Thermo Electric to meet the challenges of the 21st century. Included in the reorganization was Thermo Electric (Canada), Ltd. and Thermo Electric (UK) Ltd., its Canadian and European operations respectively. Concurrent with the reorganization was the addition of Thermodynamic Sensors, the successor rm of CGS Scientic, itself a signicant temperature sensor manufacturer.
On July 1, 2008 the Board of Directors of Thermo Electric further restructured the operations of the Company such that the company's global Corporate Ofces were relocated after 57 years from Saddle Brook New Jersey to a modern manufacturing facility located in West Chester PA; the operations of its Saddle Brook plant were relocated to a modern facility in Totowa New Jersey; and a new manufacturing facility of Thermo Electric was established in Cleveland Ohio. With its Houston Sales Ofce, located in the center of the US petro-chemical industry, the US operations of Thermo Electric are now under one US operating company. It in turn is a wholly owned subsidiary of Thermo Electric Company, Inc. the parent company of all Thermo Electric subsidiaries worldwide.
On January 1, 2009 TE established Thermo Electric Company BVBA, a subsidiary sales and trading company located in Balen, Belgium. Its operations are conducted in Euro, making this our fourth operating currency; USD, CAD, GBP and Euro. In September of 2009 TE established its Indian manufacturing, sales & service subsidiary located in Gurgaon Haryana India with its operations conducted in Indian Rupee.
Thermo Electric presently boasts manufacturing capabilities at six different locations; West Chester, Pennsylvania; Totowa, New Jersey; Cleveland, Ohio; Sittingbourne, England; Brampton, Ontario Canada; and Gurgaon, Haryana India. In addition, the Company maintains a regional sales ofce in Houston, Texas and a trading & distribution company in Balen, Belgium. Its upgraded and integrated system capabilities now make it possible for Thermo Electric to manage, manufacture and ship from any one of its facilities around the world. TE remains today the premier "global” sensor manufacturer with truly an international array of engineering design support and manufacturing capabilities.
