With a voice which has been described as ‘effortless’

and ‘dazzling’, he has quickly carved out his own unique

style with his take on the American song book.

Tim has performed sell-out shows across New Zealand and

Australia and has collaborated with world renowned

musicians including legendary arranger Russ Garcia,

Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Dame Malvina Major and Sir How-

ard Morrison. Tim is now looking to take his productions fur-

ther afield and showcase his work to the rest of the world.

Tim Beveridge’s career has progressed in leaps and bounds since he abandoned his life as a

lawyer some years ago. Starting in musical theatre, he was one of the youngest performers

to play the Phantom in “The Phantom of the Opera” at the early age of 29, then appeared

on the world stage by winning a place in the final of the world’s most prestigious music

theatre competition, the BBC Voice of Musical Theatre in the UK in both 2000 and 2002 – the

only person ever to appear in two consecutive finals. His first recording, “Singer” with the

New Zealand Symphony Orchestra went gold within four weeks of release..

In 2004 he collaborated with the arranger Russ Garcia

(arranger to Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra,

Count Basie, et al) on a big band recording that culminated

in the release of Tim’s second CD, “Come Rain, Come

Shine” on the Sony/BMG label in 2004. The album, featuring

Buddy Childer’s Big Band and conducted by Russ Garcia,

was recorded in Hollywood. Its endorsements included Burt

Bacharach lyricist Hal David, among others.

Tim has sung in every major venue in New Zealand as well as the Sydney Opera House

and Melbourne Concert Hall with well known New Zealand performers such as Sir Howard

Morrison, Dame Malvina Major and Hayley Westenra. He has conceived, produced,

directed and starred in his own festival productions over the past ten years.

Other career highlights include having performed seven national anthems for the All Blacks

(for seven wins – although he claims no credit...) including the prestigious final Lions versus

All Blacks test match in Auckland and more recently the 2008 final of the

Bledisloe Cup. Tim was also featured in “The Anthem Singer”,

a documentary on Sky Sport’s Rugby Focus programme.

His career as an independent concert producer has also seen Tim

produce concerts at major venues in Auckland, Wellington and

Christchurch with his own Neophonic Jazz Orchestra. Among those was

“Fly me to the Moon” at Auckland’s Town Hall conducted by

Russ Garcia himself and recorded as a live-in-concert album. Other

concert highlights include “The Vegas Experience” which paid homage to the Las Vegas

swing era with classics from Sinatra, Martin, Darin and others and “The Music is Bond...

James Bond”– which celebrated the music from the Bond films.

Recently Tim was a hit with TV audiences in 2008’s tribute to Sir Howard Morrison in

“To Sir, With Love” where he returned to his musical theatre roots, performing the

Phantom’s“Music of the Night” to wide acclaim.

Come Fly with Me is an intimate cabaret experience showcasing some of the

greatest music ever written, including classics from Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin,

Louis Armstrong, Sammy Davis Jr and Cole Porter.

Tim has presented the show with some of New Zealand’s top musical talent.

In 2007, the show was recorded live at Auckland’s Town Hall with a 17 piece band and

original arrangments from composer Russ Garcia.

The concerts include great American song book favourites – Mack the Knife,

Come Fly With Me, New York New York, The Girl from Ipanema, It Had to Be You

and I’ve Got You Under My Skin, She and more.

Vegas

Tim’s tribute to the golden era of Las Vegas entertainment transports

audiences to another time with all the glitz and glamour. The show has

featured well-known New Zealand entertainer Jacquie Clarke,

violinist Jess Hinden, the Candy Lane dancers and of course the 17 piece

Neophonic Jazz Orchestra.

Senior management at IBM rated the show the most successful evening of

entertainment in 25 years of IBM’s recognition events.

The Music is Bond...James Bond

‘The Music is Bond... James Bond’ is a stunning show which features

a collection of songs from the iconic films from Dr No in 1962 through to

Quantum of Solace.

The show features its own Bond girls in experienced vocalists Tina Cross,

Caitlin Smith, Rebecca Wright and Taisha along with the showís producer

Tim Beveridge and a 20-piece orchestra.

Bond themes have been sung by some of the world’s leading artists including Tina Turner,

Tom Jones, Paul McCartney and most recently Alicia Keys. Many were successful hits in

their day with some nominated for Academy Awards.

The Music includes Diamonds Are Forever, From Russia With Love, Live and

Let Die, For Your Eyes Online, A View to a Kill, The Spy Who Loved me,

Goldfinger and Another Way To Die.
