WHAT IS CHIROPRACTIC?

Chiropractic is a holistic healthcare that focuses on the nervous

system (brain and spinal cord) and how the nervous system controls

all the functions in the body such as the

adrenals, immune, gastrointestinal, pulmonary, cardiovascular

system, etc. Chiropractic care is used most often for back, neck, extremity, joint

pains, headaches, numbness, tingling, but is not limited to these

conditions. Research has shown that chiropractic is beneficial in

conditions such as asthma, allergies, autism, colic, common

cold/flu, constipation, digestion, ear infections, painful menstruation, high blood pressure, lung and bronchial problems, PMS, pregnancy, sinus/sinusitis, torticollis, and many more.

TREATMENT TECHNIQUES

The most common therapeutic procedure performed by

chiropractors is known as an adjustment. An adjustment is a gentle

thrust to the joints to restore range of motion, function, reduce pain

and muscle tightness as well as to improve overall general health.

Dr. Joon Lim specializes in both gentle as well as traditional

techniques. She is Advanced Proficiency Rated in Activator

Methods, a comfortable and highly effective state of the art

technique. She also uses other techniques to accommodate all her

patients. Once pain has stabilized, Dr. Lim will recommend her

patients to start stretches/strengthening exercises so patients can

return to activities they used to do, reduce reoccurrence of

condition, improve performance, and get the best out of

chiropractic care.

WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM

CHIROPRACTIC CARE

EVERYONE!!! Infants, kids, teenagers, athletes, pregnant

women, “golden years” population, people who have

gone through accidents, work/sports/recreational

injuries, simply in pain and/or not performing as well as

before, people who feel “fine”

ABSENCE OF PAIN IS NOT A

GOOD INDICATOR OF GOOD

HEALTH!

Pain is usually the last symptom to show up and the first

to go. The spine is usually restricted/unstable for

months or years before it presents as a problem.

“I HEARD I’LL HAVE TO GO

FOREVER” IS A MYTH

Once your pain has stabilized, it is up to you to continue care for

maintenance/wellness care. Many patients choose to come back

approximately once a month/few months because they realize how

great getting adjusted is. Going to a chiropractor is just like going to

a dentist. Normally, you don’t go to a dentist only when you have pain. You go in for check-ups and teeth cleaning before pain starts

to show up.

Going for maintenance care is also like maintaining a healthy

lifestyle—When you have reached a healthy, optimal weight after a

weight loss program, do you stop eating healthy and exercise or do

you continue maintaining a healthy lifestyle?
