Introduction to the Discworld

The world is round. You may believe that it is a big rock circling around the sun by the laws of gravitation by Isaac Newton.In this series of novels by Terry Pratchett it is not. It is a disc on the back of four elephants, who themselves stand on the back of a giant turtle named Great-A-tuin. This turtle is flying through space.

Sounds ridiculous? You believe in science? Well... the discworld is not governed by the rules of science it is based upon the rules of narration. The rules of stories.
