Denominator:• In a fraction, the denominator is the

number below the line. It shows how many equal parts the whole is divided into.

Example: 2/3 The denominator is 3.

Numerator:• In a fraction, the numerator is the

number above the line. It shows how many parts of the denominator are taken.

Example: 2/3 The numerator is 2.
