Program Description This course provides students interested in learning machining skills with the foundational broad knowledge they will need to understand measurement, materials and supply in the manufacturing workplace. Additionally job placement, bench work and layout competencies will be covered. Program Structure Introduction to Manufacturing ..........................................................50 Hours Program Content Covers basic math knowledge, Hazmat, MSDS, basic personal protective equipment and tool safety. Maintenance procedures, tool maintenance, basic machining problems such as tapping, threading, drilling, milling, reaming and grinding. Quality control infused throughout. For job planning, bench work and layout students will follow blueprint to complete an applied drilling project to industry standard. Program Commitment 50 Hours Completion Requirements A student must have passed all required courses in the program, attended at least ninety per- cent (90%) of the class hours oered and satisfied all financial obligations before he or she is eligible to receive a certificate of completion for the program.
