of LeadingEdge Technology
25 Year ReliabilityMany in Extreme
Environments
• Efficiency: Energy Savings of up to 80%
• Lifetime: Useful Lifetime of 60,000 hours – 14 years at 12 hours use per day
• Zero Maintenance: Reducing routine maintenance costs and disruption, with no need to change a bulb
• Cool Light: Radiate very little heat
• Shock Resistance: Robust design making it difficult to damage with external shock
• Toxicity: Contains no mercury, eliminating disposal costs (RoHS complaint)
Benefits of LEDs
• To achieve photometric performance of Fluorescents / Halogens
• To develop luminaries that meet Health & Safety requirements “As pleasant to look at as a Fluorescent”
• To build in long term reliability demanded of a long life product
The Challenges
Patented Waveguide Technology• Our Approach is Unique
• We shine light sideways into an encapsulation, not directly outwards. Thisavoids direct contact with the eye and provides a safe and efficient lightoutput
• We use acrylic rods to amplify and control the light output, reducing thenumber of LED’s required
• This means we can use high power LEDs, draw less current and have noneed to diffuse the output
• The flexibility of the technology allows us to replace fluorescent fittings andachieve LG & BS standards

• All photometric data has been produced by the NPL and/or
Lighting association
• Similarly all CE marking and IP testing has been conducted
through Lighting association or independent test houses
• Selection of Philips Lumiled - 60, 000 hours @ 130 C
• Thermal Management - Junction Temperatures below half Philips maximum tolerance, typically 55 C
• Selection of Inventronics Driver after extensive evaluation- Including Independent Test House
• Manufactured locally in Atherton
- Control of IP and control of quality- Major commitment to grow a local manufacturing base- To create a substantial committed and capable workforce in the Borough
• Five Years Warranty at 18- 24 hours/ Day Operation
• More than 5% LED Failure = 48 Hour Replacement
Reliability & Warranties
• Dimming, Motion Detection, Ambient Sensors
• DALI & DMX Compatible
• Emergency Fittings (Self Test Capability)
• Bespoke Solutions- E.G. Night Watch System for NHS- Dim to 5% for Birmingham NEC- Mechanical solution for Manchester Airport
Intelligent Controls
Local Manufacture
• Currently UK
• Protection of IP – control of quality
• Design for manufacture
• Lean Manufacturing
• Highly trained staff
Example: NHS
• A range of internal and external light fittings to replace fluorescents, halogens and metal halides at ceiling heights at 2.5 metres to 8 metres
• Opportunities to sustain or improve lux levels, improve overall quality of light (uniformity & colour) and significantly enable the reduction of carbon emissions, electricity costs & disruptive maintenance
• Improve the patient experience and outcome
• Hygienic sealed units - contribute to infection control
• Precise colour rendering of 4000K – the optimal colour for examining patients
Our technology has very unique selling points across most applications…
A solution for every application… MHA Lighting also has a range of LED Lighting
solutions for most internal/external applications.
Manchester Airport Car Park
Before After
What our customers say…The new lighting has been a great success. It was recently praised in our Park Mark Award assessment with positive feedback on its quality and how it has enhanced the area’s safety and security features, which in turn will greatly benefit our customers. “Terry Clarke, Energy and Sustainability project manager at Newcastle Airport
With the new lighting system we have made significant savings to our energy bills and of course those savings will be ploughed back into clinical care. This new lighting system from MHA has really made a difference to patients too. It has created a much better atmosphere for our patients and staff.” Moses Warburton, re-development manager of NDHT
“After several months of trialling numerous lighting technologies and designs, MHA’s bespoke retro fit solution outshone all the others. The end product has more than exceeded our expectations.” Jonathan Beswick, Manchester Airport project technician
“Just to let you know that the labs have been fitted out and your double TiLite looks fantastic. The production manager is so impressed he has now asked me to get quotes for all of the labs at Harlow.” Steve Morris, BMS process owner GlaxoSmithKline, Harlow and Global Facilities Manager
