Padworth Online
◼ Padworth Online was developed in response to the
coronavirus pandemic. It is a new kind of school
founded on the educational philosophy, practices and
traditions of Padworth College
◼ Padworth Online delivers a fully interactive Padworth
education to students around the world. Our unique
online school offers the best of Padworth’s academic
programmes, preparing students for onward progression
to top universities, both in the UK and around the world
◼ Padworth Online offers much more than a remote
learning experience. Face-to-face lessons are delivered
in live, interactive classrooms by Padworth’s
professionally qualified teachers. Students are able to
interact with their teacher in the video classroom or
message their teacher with particular questions,
comments or contributions
◼ In addition to academic classes, the Programme covers
cultural and social preparation, as well as wellbeing and

A Level subjects, subject to a prior discussion with the
Director of Studies. During the course of the first year
and depending on performance and after careful
discussion, it may be appropriate for a student to drop
one of the four subjects and carry the remaining three
through to A Level
◼ A wide range of subjects are offered. These are
reviewed regularly and new subjects are added from time
to time. It cannot be guaranteed that all subjects listed
will run in any particular year, as it depends on the
number of students who opt for that subject
◼ Prospective students and parents may specifically
request subjects that are not on the list – e.g., French.
Such requests are accommodated wherever possible
◼ The University and Careers Adviser works closely with all
A Level students to ensure they receive guidance and
support for the university application process (UCAS)

Enrichment Programme
◼ The College’s Enrichment Programme includes a
varied programme of sport, social and
recreational activities and trips throughout the
week, as well as regular excursions every
weekend
◼ The Programme includes a range of sports and a
variety of clubs and activities, designed to foster
team spirit and the confidence to integrate with
others when students move on from Padworth
◼ Sports include badminton, basketball, golf,
football, table tennis, tennis and volleyball.
There is also a Fitness Centre on site
◼ Activities include charitable work/ volunteering,
choral and instrumental tuition, chess,
conservation, cooking, debating, film, languages,
leadership skills and photography
◼ Off-campus recreational activities include
bowling, cinema, horse riding ice skating and
yoga

Excursions
◼ As well as our on-site activities, we organise a
stimulating and varied programme of fully-
supervised trips at weekends. Some allow students
to discover places of cultural, geographical and
historical interest; others encourage students to
sample the great outdoors, through walking, hiking,
cycling and other physical pursuits
◼ Sightseeing, cultural visits and even shopping
provide contexts within which speaking and listening
skills are put to the test; they are also great fun and
provide memories to last a lifetime
◼ Weekend trips may include London sightseeing,
excursions to the nearby cities of Oxford and
Reading, trips to the zoo, laser quest, theme parks,
attending live sports events (football, hockey and
more)
◼ There are no exeat weekends

Pastoral Care
◼ Boarding is central to the ethos of the College and
the close-knit community has a strong sense of
home-from-home
◼ Outstanding pastoral care is provided by the
residential team and is complemented by full
medical support from the local doctor’s surgery
◼ The Principal, Director of Studies and boarding staff
reside on campus, ensuring a family atmosphere of
care and support for all students at all times
◼ Boarding students live on campus in boarding
houses, with separate houses for boys and girls.
The majority of the rooms are single study
bedrooms
◼ All meals are served in the College dining hall and
lovingly prepared by our team of chefs, who are
able to cater for all requirements
◼ Day students are an integral part of the boarding
community and enjoy the benefits of having time
