Type something to introduce yourself. This let’s them know you want to add them as a Skype contact. Then press Send.

They will be added to your contact list, but you’ll only see a question mark instead of their status icon until they accept your request. When your new contact accepts your request, you can see when they are online and then you can make free calls and video calls with them.

To accept a contact request, click Recent. The number inside the orange circle represents how many contact requests or instant messages you have pending.

The message from the person with a question mark as a status icon is the pending contact request. Just click that contact’s name.

Click the appropriate button.

Once you accept the contact request, the contact is added to your contact list and you can see their online status and make free calls, video call, or “talk” with them via Skype.

If you are “online”, but Skype is minimized to the taskbar, incoming contact requests will appear as pop-up notifications in your system tray. Click the pop-up to open the request, then follow the previous steps.

1. In Skype, click the Contacts tab.2. Find the person you want to call.3. Click the contact name. If they have a

status of displayed next to their name, it means they’re on Skype and you can call them for free.

Note: If you see the question mark icon next to their name, it means they haven’t accepted your contact request yet.

4. Then click CALL.

5. If you can’t hear you or you can’t hear them, click the call quality icon in the call bar.

6. To end the call, click the End Call button.

You can share your screen with one Skype contact at any time during a voice call for free as long as their version of Skype supports this feature.

4. A dialogue box comes up and asks for confirmation. Click Start.

To share a specific window, rather than your entire screen, click the down arrow button and select Share Window.

Then select the window you want to share.

You can change your screen sharing options by clicking the Change Sharing Options icon

When you’re ready to stop sharing, click the Stop Sharing button.

Only one person can share their screen at a time, although you can switch presenters at any time and as often as you like.
