Goal of this classThis course is an applied survey of the field of online learning, including theory and design considerations. Topics will include efficacy of online learning, design considerations when using Web 2.0, course management systems, and similar online learning technologies, research and future directions.

Course activitiesIn this course, we will: Define online learning in the framework of distance educationExamine some of the pedagogical theories associated with online learningExamine and critique tools that can be used to support online learningDesign an online learning environment
