History Of Flag
The National Flag of Pakistan was designed by Syed Amir-uddin Kedwaii and was based on the original flag of the Muslim League, which itself drew inspiration from the flag of the Sultanate of Delhi and the Mughal Empire in India.
The national flag of Pakistan was adopted in its present form during a meeting of the Constituent Assembly on August 11, 1947, just three days before the country's independence, when it became the official flag of the Dominion of Pakistan. It was afterwards retained by the current-day Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
The National Flag of Pakistan is dark green in color with a white vertical bar, a white crescent in the center and a five-rayed star.
A dark green field represents
Islam the Muslim majority of
Pakistan and a vertical white stripe in the
hoist, represents religious
minorities.
The Crescent on the Flag represents Progress.
The five-rayed Star represents light and knowledge.
