We are primarily a law firm based in the heart of the historic city of Valletta, Malta. As legal professionals, we identify strongly with our heritage, which guarantees the highest level of ethical standards in all our services.

Our multidisciplinary team of legal practitioners provides consultancy services and representation

Our fiduciary services company is fully licensed by the Malta Financial Services Authority to provide the full complement of trustee and fiduciary services.

Knowing that these matters are often extremely delicate matters, our team carefully guides clients through every stage of the trust, from constitution, throughout the lifetime of the trust until its termination.

Moreover, we are capable of managing any supplementary obligations arising out of trusts,

such as rental collection, tax payments, acting as Protector, and all the necessary preparation and processing of legal documentation attached to the specific trust.

As authorised fiduciaries, we regularly hold shares in companies on behalf of those clients who wish to keep their identity confidential from third parties such as competitors, while still retaining complete control over their company.

We have developed a one-stop-shop approach to ensure that clients do not have to hop from one authority to the next and from one private service provider to another and can simply leave it up to us to co-ordinate all the support required for their business.

We are also an authorised intermediary of one of Malta’s principal banks, which allows us to introduce our clients in order to obtain banking services.

Furthermore, we offer business support services such as book-keeping, payroll services, domain and email registration, as well as office and meeting facilities.

PARTNERS

Valletta Legal is owned and managed by its three partners who merged their respective legal and financial services practices in 2009. The partners, together with the associates and other professionals who have joined since the law firm’s inception, are committed to ensure that our clients will receive the highest level of service and attention. The partners also act as Directors on the respective Boards of Valletta Trustees Ltd, Valletta Services Ltd and myEUfunds, a consultancy firm set up to assist clients in obtaining EU funding.

Our head lit igator, Tanya also brings twenty years of experience in Planning matters to the firm and represents clients before the various boards dealing with development matters in Malta. She has occupied the post of Independent member of the Planning Authority Board for five years and Chairperson of the Planning Appeals Board for a further six.

Two other par t icular areas of practice where Tanya has obtained extensive experience are family law and commercial draf t ing. She is also experienced in Trusts and Foundations.

For the last twenty years, Reuben has specialised in commercial law and counts some of Malta’s largest corporate groups as long term clients. He has also served as a member of the board of the Communicat ions Regulator as well as Chairman of the Energy Regulator. He was also President of the Chamber of Advocates – Malta’s National Bar Association of Advocates - and has represented the Chamber of Advocates in various international fora.

Apart from commercial law, Reuben practices in corporate law and financial services and is also deeply interested in ICT law, civil rights and the development of ethical standards

in the legal profession.

Our multitasking and multidisci-plinary man and youngest partner. His days are mostly spent at his desk or in meetings with clients, dissecting contracts, dealing with Intellectual Property issues, devising fiscal or corporate strategy that best suit his clients and advising foreign high-net-worth clients about residency issues and tax planning.

He also advises high-net-worth individuals desir ing to obtain citizenship or residence in Malta.

OUR CITY

The construction of the city of Valletta by the Order of the Knights of St John, who governed the Maltese Islands, commenced immediately after the 1565 Great Siege of Malta. It rises on a peninsula dominating two harbours and is completely surrounded by an unbroken chain of impressive fortifications built to defend the city against future attacks.

The many auberges, palazzos and churches are mainly Baroque in style which is still very evident today.

Valletta remains a vibrant capital city and a focal centre for cultural events, further enhanced by the recent addition of the Renzo Piano parliament building at the entrance to Valletta.

The city of Valletta is inscribed in the Unesco World Heritage list.
