Objectives : This kanji and vocabulary class is designed for students in engineering fields. Thestudents will learn how to use kanji(JLPT N2-3 level) and kanji compounds, andwill also practice writing sentences using the target kanji. Vocabulary needed forresearch activities and academic daily life in general will also be introduced inclass.

Prerequisite : Completion of Intermediate Ⅰ Integral course. Completion of 300 hours ofstudying Japanese, or JLPT N3 equivalent.

They will also share their ownexperiences and ideas on culture and language. Furthermore, participants mayhave opportunities to give presentations in other local educational institutions.

Prerequisite : This class is open for students, researchers who are from intermediate toadvanced level.

Textbook : None　Using articles from newspapers or books and TV programs　

Evaluation : Class activities 20%, Vocabulary Quiz 10%, Mid-term presentation 20%, Finalpresentation 25%, Assignments 25%.・Course will be completed if all the following requirements have been met; 1)Have attended more than 70% of classes 2) Have completed final exam and/orfinal assignment・Letter grades for the entire course will be assigned as follows: A:80-100% B:65-79% C:50-64% F:0-49%・Makeup exams for mid-term and final exams can be scheduled ONLY in the oneweek period after the exam date. Makeup exams will only be worth 80% of thepossible score that can be attained through regular exams. No makeups will beoffered for other quizzes.
