Don't Underestimate the Power of PRAYER!

• Prayer can be so common that sometimes we miss how profound it is

• The pathway to authority and power

- “For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds.” 2 Corinthians 10:4

• Your petition to the Father shows His Rulership in your life, for big and SMALL Things


Invading Prayer• Prayer is an act of Violence - The Kingdom of Heaven is

“violently” advancing against the kingdom of darkness!

- “From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has been coming violently, and the violent take it by force.” Matthew 11:12

• Prayer precedes power (Acts 1:14 & Acts 2:1-4)

- Through prayer we can take back what the devil stole from us (repossession)


Men are God’s Method

• God has limited Himself to work through Men “... and let him have dominion ... over all the earth ...” Gen 1:26

- FACT: Jesus will end up on the throne of the Earth

- FACT: Without our partnership in prayer, He will NOT move on Earth (no lack of ability but wants partnership)

RESULT: The Freed BECOME the Free’ers!!!


God Wants Intimacy• God wants to know us, to partner with us. He really

does enjoy us!

• God wants us to seek His face, not only His hand

• Understand Gods Heart - don’t be confused or ignorant about HIS Desire TO KNOW YOU and HELP YOU!


• Can we bring our “dirty linen” into the Throne Room?

• “Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:14-16

What about SIN?


Sin Makes Us DirtyBUT...

God is a Loving

Father and still longs to pick us up!


Prayer of Elijah• “Therefore, confess your sins to one another and

pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the earth.” James 5:16-17


GOD Showed UP! 1 Kings 18:20-40

An ordinary man prayed and an extraordinary thing happened.


Prayer Primer• Effective prayer doesn't have to take a long time

• Have Shameless Boldness to "Ask"

• “And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.” Matthew 21:22

• God is your friend - If you ask He will help

• Praise is an instrument of violence - USE IT!

• As you are seeking Gods will, by that very act you are performing His Will


Prayer Circle• Break up into groups of 4 to 5 persons for the next 5-10 minutes

• Pray for 2 Things

• Personal Prayer Request

• Ask BIG ... Ask BOLD, Be honest, transparent and willing to receive

• Like Elijah, Pray for your Community

• Ask God to show us how to engage our community

• What issue is most pressing?
