• Native to South and Central America, and as far north as Texas.

• Large (up to 2 kg).• Very poisonous.• Nocturnal.• Voracious predators.• Lay between 8,000-30,000 eggs at a time.

• Have spread around Australia.• Predators cannot survive their toxins.• They are outcompeting native species.
