Class of 2018 celebrates with Graduation Day inspiring words from Mr. Nandan Nilekani, Co- founder and Non Executive Chairman of Infosys, and Chief Guest. The Grade 12 graduation ceremony and the moving up ceremony of Grade 10 Inventurers, was held on 24 January, 2018 at the newly constructed Inventure Hub. Mr. Nandan Nilekani, Co-founder and Non Executive Chairman of Infosys, and Chief Guest at the Graduation ceremony of the class of 2018, mentioned in his inspiring address that the students need to get used to the notion that we have to keep learning all the time, especially because of advances in technology at such a rapid rate. He asked the students to learn new trends and be adept at dealing with change. He further stated that learning how to learn is the most important lesson in life and the culture and philosophy the students have learnt at Inventure will stand them in good stead for the rest of their lives. These profound words set the tone for the rest of the evening which witnessed, among other special moments, the prize distribution of Inventure Awards, given to students for excellence in a particular field and felicitating the Changemaker Challenge winners. Changemaker Challenge comes to a close - Top 4 teams felicitated by Nandan Nilekani & Irfan Razack!

The 4 teams that made it to the top of Inventure's Changemaker Challenge were Team Aqua Fighters, Team Binfinity, Team Parikrma and Team Safe Leaf. They were felicitated by Mr. Nandan Nilekani - Non Executive Chairman, Infosys; Chairman, EkStep & Former Chairman, Unique Identification Authority of India, and Mr. Irfan Razack - Founding Chairperson & Trustee - Inventure Academy & CMD - Prestige Group, during the Graduation Ceremony for Inventure’s Class of 2018 on 24 January. Round 3 of the Inventure Academy Changemaker Challenge was

held at the Inventure campus on Whitefield-Sarjapur Road. Sharing details of the impact the pilot of their projects have had, the Top 11 teams vied for project funding worth INR 1 lac. There was a total funding of 5 lacs that had been made available for this project. The judges for this round included Archana Sinha who leads the Health and Nutrition Initiative at Ashoka India Innovators and Odette Katrak co-founder of Beautiful Bengaluru.

Kaushik strikes Gold at INSEF!!!

Kaushik Kunal Singh (Grade 10) has won the top honours at the Indian Science and Engineering Fair (INSEF) Nationals. The competition had winners from 10 regional level competitions across the country. Kunal now has qualified for the affiliated international competition World Genius Olympiad to be held in New York in June 2018! This is the second year in a row that a student from Inventure has won accolades at INSEF. Inventurer Sahithi Pingali, won last year for her project, 'An Innovative Crowdsourcing Approach to Monitoring Freshwater Bodies'. In the words of Kaushik, ‘Sahithi was my inspiration to participate in these worldwide competition. Her guidance based on her personal experiences was invaluable.’ Stupendous achievement Kunal!! Three Inventurers, part of the Karnataka State Football Team, are Runners up at the National Futsal Tournament!

Inventurers (Captain Vinaya Seshan - Grade 10 IG, Rivka Aarons - Grade 11 IG and Aashna Naik - Grade 11 AS) represented the Karnataka Girls Team at the 4th Senior National Futsal Tournament held in Goa. They had a superb tournament ending up with the Runners Up Trophy, going down against hosts Goa after a closely fought battle. Well done girls!

Inventurers ace the ASSET Talent Search Exams!

Six Inventurers emerged as ASSET Talent Scholar Gold winners and ten other Inventurers have been declared ASSET Talent Scholars, of the 62 Inventurers who appeared for this very competitive exam, The ASSET Talent Search is a platform that connects promising students with advanced resources and learning opportunities that challenge their unique abilities and hone them for success. Over 12,000 students across 722 schools in India and the Middle East participated in the ASSET Talent Search exams held in November 2017. The full list of winners is ! Inventure Academy claims ‘Winner of Best School (Runners up) Award 2017 @ the Kidovators Education Summit’!!

Inventure Academy has been awarded the ‘Winner of Best School (Runners up) Award 2017 with a prize of Rupees One Lakh at the Grand Finale Kidovators Creativity Olympiad: The Erehwon Challenge 2017!!. Of the 84 participating schools from across 22 cities in 10 states, 600 students made it to the Regional Finals of the Erehwon Challenge. Of these, 120 students from 28 schools were selected to compete in the Grand Finale organized at the Kidovators Edu Summit in Bengaluru on 13 January. Ashna Yadav (Grade 4), Emma Augustine (Grade 5), Vivin Anand (Grade 6), Mudit Verma (Grade 7) and Joel Tony (Grade 9) top the list for Best Presentations while Siddhanth Attavar won a cash prize of Rs 5,000! Lalitha Pingali wins Young Innoventurer Award at Pune!

Lalitha Pingali, Grade 8, won the Young Innoventurer Award for her project ‘Stink Map: Monitoring Environmental Pollution by Detecting and Classifying Odors using a Simple and Easy-to-use Mobile Probe’ at an award ceremony, organized by Intelligence Plus held on 27 January at Pune, Maharashtra.This system produces a first-of-its-kind interactive stink map of any geographical area that can be used by anyone to understand the stink level of their own environment or any place they plan to visit. The system predicts the human-perceived stink in an area using machine learning on sensor data about 8+ gases. It classifies the stink in the air into five categories from 'not stinky' to 'unbearable'. Last November, Lalitha also received the Special Award from the International Society of Geoscientists at the Initiative for Research & Innovation in Science (IRIS) National Science Fair 2017 for the same project! 3 teams from Inventure progress to the national level of First Lego League (FLL)!!

FLL, an international robotics competition that is conducted every year by Lego, saw 10 teams from Inventure Academy participate at the regional level held in Bangalore on 20 & 21 Jan 2018, the highest number from any school in India! From a total of 22 teams that competed from all across Bangalore, 3 teams from Inventure won and have progressed to the national level which is scheduled for 10 & 11 February 2018, in Chennai. Inventure Academy also bagged the 'Best Core Value' award at the same event! Congratulations to the students. A special mention to their mentors, Aaron Joseph and Pratik Kashiramka, who have spent many long hours guiding and motivating these youngsters to reach this far!

10 Inventurers participate in the global Round Square conference at Welham Boys School, Dehradun!

Accompanied by 2 faculty members, 10 Inventurers attended the global Round Square conference at Welham Boys, Dehradun from 24 - 30 January. During their trip Inventurers participated in various social service and adventure activities. Empathy, community living, sharing and caring, taking risks, discovering new capabilities, standing up to challenges are some of the concepts the students were given an opportunity to explore and enhance while engaging in these activities. A great experience with tremendous learning!

Sahithi Pingali features in the ‘Inventing Tomorrow’ documentary!

The documentary by Laura Nix follows seven teenagers (extremely passionate about saving the environment) from around the world as they prepared to present projects for the gold standard of science fairs, Intel’s International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF). Sahithi Pingali, Grade 12 Inventurer, whose project 'An Innovative Crowdsourcing Approach to Monitoring Freshwater Bodies' has won numerous awards, is one of the 7 teenagers who is featured in this documentary. The article provides an apt synopsis of the documentary by stating ‘Inventing Tomorrow is a wonderfully hopeful profile of scientists who are old enough to grasp the gargantuan problems facing their global community, and young enough to still believe they can solve them. AcademicsGrade 1C learn vowels in Hindi!

Students of Grade 1C were taught two vowels of the Hindi alphabet during class today. Oral and written examples of words associated with the vowel were provided by the teacher, who went on to also write the letters in steps for easy understanding. It was delightful to watch the students’ enthusiasm as they interacted and responded to the teacher’s questions! Some fun learning!

Grade 4 use their naturalistic intelligences to model dissimilar fractions.

The 8th Intelligence as suggested by Dr. Howard Gardner, is the Naturalistic Intelligence which involves how sensitive an individual is to nature and the world. Grade 4 used their naturalistic intelligence to model dissimilar fractions, made out of twigs and leaves collected from school. A fun way to learn and to help develop this intelligence in the students!

Prove that the sum of the angles of a triangle is 180 degrees!

This was the task assigned to Grade 5 students in their Math class. Students were asked to make a triangle without measurements being provided. Once drawn, the corners of the triangle had to be snipped and pasted on a straight line, in such a way that the sum of the angles adds up to 180 degrees. Siddhanth Sarvanan, a student says, ‘This was a new concept I learnt. Learning is much more interesting when you study a concept through activities. It was great fun joining the angles and discovering how their sum is 180 degrees’!

Grade 5 Hindi students participate in a ‘Master Chef’ activity!

A ‘Master Chef” activity was held for Grade 5 students learning Hindi, where they formed multiple groups to make dishes, based on recipes given to them. These included making Parfait, Roti Roll, Biscuit Nutella mix, Bhel Poori and Dahi Papadi.The instructions given in Hindi, helped the students to read and comprehend better. It also helped improve their communication skills as they had to discuss the given recipes with their team members. Learning Hindi while having fun cooking!

Every year, the Inventure Academy community brings to the forefront causes which they feel passionately about and work towards accomplishing change. This has also been the focus of their annual school musical productions, and issues include exploring the purpose of education, child safety & protection, traffic, clean water and reviving Bangalore’s lake ecosystem have all been brought to the forefront. Grade 8 IC exhibit the diverse culture of India ahead of Republic Day!

Grade 8 IC held an exhibition to depict the diverse culture of India, in celebration of Republic Day! They decorated their classroom with charts representing the various states of India, focusing on the Arts, Festivals, Literature and Architecture of every state. Students also brought in a variety of food displaying the cuisine of the different states. Inviting every class and faculty members, all students and teachers were greeted with a ‘Namaste’ and a vermillion tika was placed on the forehead! Their enthusiasm was infectious and the dishes yummy! Great effort by the class!!

Grade 10 students are introduced to Inventure’s Internship Program!

Internships are a way to provide students with directional guidance on careers they may enjoy and also learn about the ‘working world.’ On January 22nd, our 10th graders were introduced to Inventure Academy's Internship Program. 11th and 12th grade seniors shared their internship experiences in the fields of Marketing, Medicine and Sociology. The 10th graders were encouraged to network by speaking with their parents, neighbours and friends' parents. They left the session thinking about possible opportunities and are looking forward to working - this will be a first job for many!

Middle School students attend the Parikrma Science Fest!

The theme of this year’s Parikrma Science Fest was air pollution. Engaging, yet easy to understand lectures by IISc professors and scientists on complex topics like the composition of air now vs then, the effects of air pollution on the human body, the formation of clouds and monsoon, etc. had the Middle School Inventurers mesmerized! Kindergarten celebrates Republic Day at Assembly!

KG students put up a remarkable display of adages, songs and dance at Assembly last week, in honour of India’s Republic Day. Driving home the importance of keeping India clean, making the environment more green and depicting India’s national flower, animal, sport and others, our Kindergarteners also sang patriotic songs and performed some lovely dances! It was a delight to watch the little ones occasionally wave at their parents in the audience and perform with such energy and fervour!

Assembly on ‘Being Sensitive’

Through a skit, song and dance Grade 2 C displayed how important it is to be sensitive to others. Catchy posters that had a message about sensitivity and the story of a blind child attending a new school and her classmates reaction to her, was depicted in an endearing way, resonating Inventure’s

core value of Encouraging Sensitivity.

It’s never too late to start a new beginning!

These profound words were the theme for assembly organized by Grade 3B. Words of wisdom, songs and skits were showcased to reiterate the message that it’s never too late to start anew, and nothing like the first few days of the new year to set the wheels in motion! Also cheered were the Nazariya art competition school level winners when they received their certificates and mementos. Congratulations to the winners!

The World of Stories!

As part of the Kindergarten Theme and Language topic 'The World of Stories', we held a session by Mrs. Geeta Ramajunam, founder of Kathalaya, an internationally recognised institute for storytelling. During her session, she narrated stories like 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' to the children who were mesmerised by the way she made the story come alive! This was followed by a puppet show. It was a great learning experience, which our enthusiastic Kindergarteners thoroughly enjoyed!

Cherial Mask Making Workshop held at Inventure!

In keeping with Inventure's core values of providing maximum exposure to our students, the Art department at Inventure organised a Workshop on the Indigenous Craft of Cherial Mask Making from Telangana, which was conducted by traditional practitioner - Master Artisan Dhanaloka Saikiran Vermaunder. This was held to expose our Art students to an Indigenous Craft. From the stage of actually making the mask to painting it in different layers is an elaborate process, which the students thoroughly enjoyed! The mask is made of a mixture of tamarind seed paste and sawdust while natural paints are used to colour the masks. Creativity shining through!

Advit Gupta wins gold in U-15 and was runner up in U-17 at the Feathers Masters Cup!

Advit Gupta (Grade 9) won a gold medal in the U15 and was runners up in the U17 categories at the 'Feather Masters Cup - Junior Badminton Championship' held on 21 January. Earlier on, he was also runners up at the Kids' Racket Sports League Badminton Tournament held at White Peacock and conducted by Sportzify! Well done Advit!

Charvi Anand wins at the U10 Tenvic Sub junior Badminton tournament!

Charvi Anand (Grade 4) participated in the Tenvic Sub junior Badminton tournament on 28 January and won in the U-10 category. She was also runner-up in the U-13 category. Well played Charvi!

Aryan Chowdhury triumphs at the Vibgyor High Inter School Sports Tournament!

Aryan Chowdhury (Grade 9) won two Gold medals (100m Backstroke & 100m Breaststroke) and a Bronze medal (100m Freestyle) in the U16 boys category swimming event held at Vibgyor High on 5 January! Aryan has secured multiple honours in earlier meets like the Golden Fins Swimming meet and the National Inter School Swimming meet organised by Treamis school. Well done Aryan!!

Inventurers win Gold and Silver medals at the Republic Day - School of India Inter School Swim Meet 2018!

Surabhi Parthasarathy, Kaili Diya Maini (both in Grade 4), Kannika Murthy (Grade 7) and Kaavya Mundkur (Grade 8) won Gold medals for the 4 x 25 mtr Freestyle Relay at the Republic Day - School of India School Swim Meet which was held on 24 January. Kaavya also won a Silver medal for the 100 mtr freestyle while Aryan Chowdhury (Grade 9) won 4 Silver medals for the 50 mtr backstroke and breaststroke, 100 mtr freestyle and the Aquathalon! Congratulations to all the winners!!

Sanjana Devineni wins her first title in the U12 AITA Talent series!

Inventurer Sanjana Devineni of Grade 5, won her first U12 title at the age of 10 years in the All India Tennis Association (AITA) Talent Series 7 days tournament conducted at Sport Cult, Bangalore last month. She beat the No.1 and No. 2 seeds in the tournament and won the championship! Sanjana also won another title here in Bangalore at the Fortune Academy, Kengeri, her 2nd U12 AITA Nationals title. She beat No.1 and No. 4 seeds in the tournament and won the tournament! Fantastic play Sanjana!

Raghav Mittal wins man of the match in cricket!

In the 3 day series held recently between Go Getters Kerala and IACA Bangalore held in Bangalore, Raghav Mittal of Grade 5 captained the U-12 team and his team won the series. He also received awards for - man of the match, captain of the winning team and an all year performance award for 2017-2018.At a match held earlier, he received the best all rounder award U-12 in the 5 day Series between IACA, Bangalore and Kedar Cricket Academy held in Chennai! Super achievements Raghav!

Inventure Academy signs Memorandum of Cooperation with Palmer Trinity!

Inventure Academy has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with Palmer Trinity School, Miami, Florida (both Round Square schools) with the aim of boosting and facilitating student and teacher exchange programs and promote mutual understanding of each other’s cultures. Palmer Trinity School is a leading Miami Private School offering dynamic and diverse curricular and co-curricular programs that foster personal growth and self-actualization, critical thinking. Avaneesh Naik is runner up @ the MAT Tennis Tournament!

Avaneesh Naik (Grade 5) was a finalist in the U-12 Boys singles category at the Murugan Academy of Tennis (MAT) Championship Trophy held in January. The score was 6-5 and he fought well against his opponent. Great effort Avaneesh!

Inventure Academy hosts yet another very successful Open House!

Inventure Academy hosted an Open House on January 20, 2018! We believe that this was a wonderful opportunity for prospective parents and students to visit our campus for genuine insight into how Inventure opens multiple pathways of learning and success. The day offered a deep dive tour into the Inventure way of teaching and learning, its ethos and culture! A few parents had this to say about their experience - ‘Inventure students seem to be very well rounded, grounded and confident’; ‘I am looking for a school and an education system that adapts itself to the child and nurtures him/her to their highest potential and I believe, Inventure is that school.’

Inventure community comes together to watch the lunar eclipse at the campus!

Discovery questions about how eclipses occur, the meaning of a Blue moon, Supermoon and Blood moon and the relationship between 'belief' and 'fact' were part of the activities and games organized by Inventure Academy as a prelude to the watching and celebration of this rare event. It was a delight to watch the Inventure community participate, and the excitement that followed watching the moon in its magnificence!
