Cornerstone Credit Union is proud to be a community-minded credit union. We believe that corporate responsibility and social responsibility go hand in hand – we are dedicated to being good corporate citizens in the communities in which we live and do business.

At Cornerstone Credit Union, everything we do is about helping our members - and the communities they live in – thrive and prosper. We are pleased to once again present our Community Investment Report highlighting some of the donations and contributions that we have

made throughout the region over the past year. In 2011, Cornerstone Credit Union supported over 450 community groups, events and organizations by investing over $213,000 back into the communities we serve. Cornerstone Credit Union believes community leadership

goes far beyond providing financial support, it is about making a difference so it only makes sense that we roll up our sleeves and get involved in the communities we serve. In 2011, Cornerstone Credit Union employees demonstrated this commitment by investing over

6,100 hours of volunteer time to worthwhile local community organizations and initiatives! At Cornerstone Credit Union, investing goes way beyond our business relationships – it’s an essential part of who we are!

The Saskatchewan Co-operative Youth Program (SCYP) is a program offered through the Saskatchewan Co-operative Association. The program teaches young people between the ages of 12 and 18 about co-operatives.

In 2011 Cornerstone Credit Union was proud to sponsor three youths to attend these camps. As well, Tracy Andrews, a staff member from our Yorkton branch volunteered a week of her time to be an assistant coordinator at one of these camps.

“Staffing co-op camp was a complete eye-opening experience. I learned a lot about co-operatives while educating the youth, and I feel I have a better understanding of why co-operatives are important in our community. It was so rewarding to see that I actually made a difference, and helped to create a great camp experience for all the youth.” – Tracy Andrews
