Design Cycle

The MYP design cycle is a system that will help you do your work by following certain steps.

The system is useful and easy to understand because it guides you through the steps of how to do your project. The Design cycle starts with the INVESTIGATION stage.

What is Design Cycle?

The investigation requires a description of the problem and an explanation on why the problem is important.

Do the following:1. Identify the problem2. Relate to real life and

AOI3. Generate questions4. Brainstorm solutions

Investigate and Research

Student will come up with a variety of designs for their project

Designs can be storyboards, sketches, diagrams etc.

Student will choose 1 design and justify their reasoning for the choice

Student will create timeline or calendar

You will need a step-by-step plan as evidence

Student should critically examine their time plan

Student will follow the time plan and the design when creating their product

Tools and techniques should be notes and explained

Include the feedback from testers in their evaluation

A detailed evaluation of the student's performance at each stage of the design cycle

Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of each stage
