If you envisage an intensive schedule of one to one meetings it is recommended that you pre-book an individual meeting space to facilitate meetings at AFSIC.
What size of Investments are appropriate to promote at AFSIC?AFSIC is one of the most important African investment events globally. As a high-level investment event AFSIC attracts Senior Executives from a wide variety of African companies, many of the most important investors in the world focused on Africa, and a wide variety of dealmakers, (such as investment bankers, corporate finance executives, fixed income and equity traders and salespeople), focused on intermediating investment into Africa.
Many investors attend AFSIC. Each has a different investment mandate. Some investors are focused on smaller sized investments (generally ranging from as small as $250,000 upwards) while other investors will be looking at much larger transactions of $50m plus.
It is advisable for African financial services companies attending AFSIC to spend time analysing which investors are attending, and their investment mandate utilising the event app, and online meeting system which are open one month prior to AFSIC, thus allowing a targeted approach during one on
one meetings held at AFSIC. Pre-arranging agendas and the provision of information prior to AFSIC will assist the investors greatly.
The range and number of investors attending allows African financial services companies to target investors most suited to their own business sector (e.g. banking or microfinance may require targeting different investors) and their different capital requirements ranging from investors focused on smaller investment of $0.5m right up to larger investment sums of $50m+.
If you envisage an intensive schedule of one to one meetings it is recommended that you pre-book an individual meeting space to facilitate meetings at AFSIC.
How do I arrange meetings with Investors or African companies at AFSIC?An online meeting and messaging system, alongside a sophisticated event app is opened to all registered delegates one month prior to AFSIC. This allows investors or African companies the opportunity to arrange investment focused meetings well ahead of AFSIC.
AFSIC delegates can then communicate their investment requirements, and explore investment parameters ahead of the event resulting in highly targeted investment meetings at AFSIC. Please note
that ALL delegates attending AFSIC are responsible for arranging their own meetings and meeting schedules are not pre-prepared for attending delegates.
Meeting spaces can be pre-reserved for the duration of AFSIC to facilitate meetings. This is encouraged where delegates envisage holding multiple meetings. Alternatively meetings can be arranged in a more casual manner at a general one on one meeting point where a limited amount of seating is available on a first come first served basis.
In addition the agenda has been designed to provide a number of networking events throughout the duration of AFSIC allowing multiple opportunities for interaction between the Senior Executives attending AFSIC.
Can I reserve a meeting space to facilitate one to one meetings at AFSIC?If you envisage an intensive schedule of one to one meetings it is recommended that you pre-book an individual meeting space to facilitate meetings at AFSIC. This can be done on the Registration page of the AFSIC website www.afsic.net

OVERVIEW | FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS CONTINUED
How long is the AFSIC App and One on One meeting system Open?
The AFSIC App and meeting systems are opened one month prior to AFSIC, and closed one week after AFSIC.
Why is AFSIC held in Europe and not in Africa? Many of the leading investors in Africa are based in either the USA or Europe. Europe provides a convenient location for these investors to congregate, and also provides a convenient hub for African companies attending to convene from different regions across the African continent. Our team also organises a number of targeted investment events in specific countries in Africa and can provide more details on these upon request.
Do you Provide Delegate Lists? In order both to adhere to privacy rules, and to respect the privacy of delegates attending AFSIC we do not provide general delegate lists. However you will be able to contact delegates attending using the online meeting system, and event app.
Language RequirementsThe operational language for AFSIC is English, currently we do not offer simultaneous translation services. Team members at the event will be able to communicate in Portuguese and also French.
Do I need a Visa?To find out whether you require a visa please check the UK Border Agency website which can be accessed at:
http: / /www.ukba.homeoff ice .gov.uk/v isas-immigration/do-you-need-a-visa/
It is highly recommended that you apply for your visa in good time prior to the conference as the British Visa system can be slow and there are no special dispensations from the British Government for delegates attending AFSIC. If you require an international invitation letter for visa purposes please complete the following international invitation letter request
