Medical Tourism in Asia

• Medical centers in Asia are drawing overseas patients because of top-notch doctors, low cost procedures, high-tech equipment and high-quality patient care.

• Countries such as Thailand, Singapore, India, the Philippines, South Korea and Malaysia see a combined 1.3 million tourists each year for medical treatment with an annual increase of about 20 to 30 percent.

• This move is expected to contribute at least US $4 billion in revenues by 2012 to the Asian medical tourism industry and US $40 billion globally.
