The Back Story

The 2006 - 2007 Tuesdays@FUTURE Civic Forum

collaboration convened by partners the Institute for Open

Economic Networks (I-Open), The Cleveland Institute of

Art, Case Western Reserve University, and University

Circle, Inc. revealed an un-seen digital media network that

spanned many locally based organizations and industries.

The I-Open Civic Forum process was adopted, a method to

connect innovation to enterprise in Open Source Economic

Development.

Weekly Tuesdays@FUTURE civic forums resulted in two spin-

out initiatives:

#1 the University Circle Innovation Zone in Cleveland, Ohio

Innovation Zones connect entrepreneurs and businessleaders to resources in more developed organizations and

institutions.

And,

#2 Defrag Ohio, a rich digital media industry network.

The Defrag Ohio Network connects information, people, resourcesand next generation project opportunities in creative digital media

for 21st century business innovation.
