GENERAL INFORMATION

Brazil is the largest country in South America and 5th in the world. Has about 190 million habitants.

All countries of South America border Brazil, except for Chile and Ecuador. Is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, with a

coastline of 7491 km. Has 15% to 20% of all globalbiodiversity and three time zones

(GMT -4, -3, -2). The oficial language is portuguese and the currency is the Real (R$): 1 dollar (american) = 4 reais

(approximately currency in September/2015). Code: +55

GENERAL INFORMATION Bauru is one of the most important cities at the countryside of the state. We are located just four hours away from São Paulo, the biggest city in Brazil. It is the most populous city in São Paulo Midwest, with 366.992 habitants. It is also an university city, home of seven universities and lots of students from all around Brazil

CLIMATE The climate is tropical and average annual temperature of 22.6 ° C. The hottest month, March, has an average temperature of 25.0 ° C, with a maximum average of 31.0 ° C and a minimum of 19.0 ° C. And the coldest month, July, averaging 19.0 ° C, 26.0 ° C and 12.0 ° C the maximum and minimum averages

What to do in bauru

The main attractions are the various hotels, restaurants, museums, bars, fast-food chains, movie theaters and shopping centeres, plus a boardwalk in the city center and concentration of shops that extends from the central region to the south.

Parque zoológico

The Parque Zoológico Municipal de Bauru is the main zoo of the region. It is located aside to the Botanic Garden and are a great choice to spend the day, have a picnic and relax. They are opened every day, from 8am to 4pm

Vitória régia park The park is located in av. United Nations, has 50,000 m2 and has a lake from which emerges a acoustic shell with a stage forming a capacity amphitheater for two thousand people. The place is used for concerts, walks and fun for adults and children.

Bauru's night

The city has a wide variety of programs, from restaurants to bars, nightclubs and parties, pleasing to all audiences, besides having a pretty, young and pleasant public. Other option we have are the university parties. Usually it is organized by some courses of the universities of the city and happens in a country house just for parties.

General information AIESEC in Bauru was founded in 2011 and has since conducted over 100 exchanges and has its present programs at major universities in the city. With over 50 members, we were recognized as the best entity expansion of AIESEC in Brazil.

2015/16 projects

Use sports as a tool to teach life skills and values like leadership, tolerance, team work, etc, using theoretical and pratical lessons

The intern will be responsible for promoting the NGO for it's market and positioning at the city based on the Organization needs by using his/her creativity! Also, he might promote a fundraising event, lika a bingo night or an international food night.

To teach English or Spanish to poor children in NGOs using ludic classes to awake in them the thought that, if they can learn another language, they can do anything!

It works with sustainability and the environment, developing the four R's (Recycling, Reusing, Reduce and Rethink) in children and other publics throughout ludic activities

What aiesec in bauru offers

• Host provided in all projects • Pick up • IPS (first meeting with the trainee): on the first

meeting, we will explain the project and all the jobs and recommendations about the city.

• First day of work: we will go with the trainee to the NGO to the first day of work

• LEAD meetings: weekly meetings to ensure the leadership development
