FINAL SHOW CAUSE NOTICE

WHEREAS, you Ms. Salma Jabeen, Assistant Professor, Department of Development

Studies, COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI- old CIIT), Abbottabad Campus have

committed following irregularities on your part:

I. You were granted Study Leave with full pay under CUI Inhouse Scheme w.e.f

04/09/2013 to 03/09/2014 for your PhD studies at CUI Abbottabad Campus on your

request. Later you applied for further extensions in leave and were granted uptil

03/09/2017 but neither you registered in Fall 16 semester nor you kept lien with your

PhD supervisor. Moreover, in accordance to CUI study policy you were required to

take 1-2 course load at campus but you failed and absented yourself w.e.f

05/09/2016.

II. Explanations vide letter No. CIIT/ATD/PF-8(901)08/8899 dated 19/10/2016

and subsequently vide letter No. CIIT/ATD/PF-8(901)08/682 dated 31/01/2017

were called and you were directed to comply with official orders but you failed.

III. A Show Cause Notice No. CIIT/ATD/PF-8(901)08/1988 dated 17/03/2017 was issued

and sent to your residential address house No. 2843, Al awan Market, Muhallah

Jungi, Inside kabuli Gate, Peshawar with instructions to join CUI, Abbottabad

Campus within 14 days and non-compliance to which may lead to severe penalty

imposed on you such as Termination/ Dismissal from CUI Service.

The process of disciplinary proceedings in accordance to CUI Employee Efficiency and

Discipline Statutes, 2006 has been followed in your case by CUI. Based on the above facts,

you Ms. Salma Jabeen, Assistant Professor, Department of Development Studies, CUI

Abbottabad Campus is directed this advertisement in the newspapers to Show Cause

explaining within 14 days as to why major penalty i.e. “Dismissal from Service” under CUI

Employee Efficiency and Discipline Statues, 2006 may not be imposed on you on account

of above misconduct.

In case of no reply to the Final Show Cause Notice in writing within 14 days of publication

of this advertisement, it shall be deemed that you have nothing to say in your defense and

ex-parte decision will be taken against you.
