FEES The cost of Life Steps is $300.00 for the week. (A day rate is also available at $60.00 per day)
Family rates are offered for $250.00 for the week, per family member.
$75.00 Deposit Required
IO Waiver, Level 1 Waiver, Supported Living, Extended School Year (ESY), Family Resources,
Private Pay and other funding resources are available to cover the cost of the program. Please check with
your case manager at your local County Board of DD to see if you qualify. Scholarships may be available
based on financial need.

Creative Concoctions (5/31 - 6/03)
If you love science, then this is a fun packed week just
for you! We will create silly putty, play dough, & green
goo & preform interesting science experiments. We will
also spend an exciting day touring the Akron Fossil and
Science Center.
Animal Planet (6/06 - 6-10)
Do you love animals of all kinds? This wild week we will
visit beasts, bugs, birds, & butterflies. Climb aboard as we
spend the week visiting area zoos, animal rescues, & even
Medina Creative Pet Play.
Horsin’ Around (6/13 - 6/17)
Come out to the ranch & make friends with our fantastic therapy horses.
You will be learning how to feed, water, groom, & care for our horses &
ponies. Each day we will work on improving our horse knowledge &
riding skills & become skilled equestrians.
Cooking Around the World (6/20 - 6/24)
Join Chef Laura as we explore the world we live in
through food. Learn how to make different dishes & the
countries they originated from. No need to bring your
passport for this unique journey around the globe!
We Can Be Heroes (6/27 - 7/01)
We will visit our community heroes such as police, firefighters, National
Guardsmen, & learn how to stay safe & help others too. We will make
our own emergency preparedness plan & learn how to complete safety
drills in our home. We will also have the opportunity to be a hero to our
community by experiencing volunteer opportunities.
If I Were An Artist (7/11 - 7/15)
Are you a painter, sculptor, musician, or jewelry designer?
Do you enjoy creating your own beautiful works of art?
You will have many opportunities to design & create many
different types of art during this fun filled week, so get
ready to show your creative side!
Master Chef (7/18 - 7/22)
Are you interested in learning how to make delicious
& nutritious meals? Join us as we learn to make lots
of delicious treats to share with our friends & family.
We will learn proper host etiquette & work on our
table manners too!
Olympic Odyssey (7/25 - 7/29)
During this week we will enjoy a baseball game, meet
team players & the team’s mascots, compete in sport
competitions for gold, silver, & bronze medals, & learn
about living active and healthy lives We’ll learn some
new & exciting games that you will be able to play at
home with family & friends.
If I Ran the Farm (Advanced) (8/01 - 8/05)
Join our barn manager and riding instructor as they teach
us how to care for all of the animals at the ranch. We will
meet with our veterinarian & blacksmith as they care for our
horses, goats, rabbits, & cats. We will improve our riding
skills & learn what it takes to compete at the fair and
Special Olympics.
Star Wars (8/08 - 8/12)
Join us as we visit NASA John Glenn Research Center & the
Great Lakes Science Center as we learn about the stars,
moons, sun, & planets. We will experience a planetarium,
build our own solar system, & explore the universe. This out
of this world week will take you to places you’ve never
dreamed of.
Every Week
Twice a week at Life Steps, our participants will get the unique
experience of therapeutic horseback riding at Medina
Creative Therapy Ranch. This PATH certified program
is supervised by a certified therapeutic riding
instructor. Therapeutic riding has many physical, social
and personal benefits plus it is a whole lot of fun!
