Registration methodology for Sido and Mbitoye is be-ing adjusted. Therefore data from these two sites may be subject to some changes. EMERGENCY HEALTH RESPONSE 267 post arrival and 526 Pre-departure medical

screenings where carried out by the IOM Migra-tion Health Physician and/or nurses, to determine the fitness to travel over the past week.

158 migrants with significant medical conditions were provided with the necessary medical care, 81 cases were referred for secondary medical care, 9 cases where deferred.

IOM is running the temporary health post in Gaoui in Ndjamena by providing primary health care ser-vices. 284 consultations and 4 referrals where conducted over the past week.

The IOM medical teams are providing basic medical services at 3 sites: N'Djamena, Moundou and Sido. IOM medical teams referred and conducted follow up for 21 pregnant women over the past week. There are no health services at night time in the Gaoui transit center. In total, since 11 January 2014, IOM medical team conducted 4,042 consultations.

PROTECTION IOM continues to provide psychosocial support and follow up to evacuees in the TSs and in the hospitals. Other protection activities include support to highly vulnerable cases, tracing and reunification of family members in the TSs and the creation of women’s sup-port groups. In the transit sites in N’Djamena, 160 persons re-ceived psychosocial assistance, which included psy-chological first aid, referrals, family visits, support group (theme: domestic violence) and recreational activities (football game, drawings and ludo). With the support of IOM, a football game was organized for the male youth in Gaoui transit center on April 12. 246 personnes participated in recreational activities, 3 personnes received psychological first aid, 2 family visits and 2 referrals were implemented in the Sido transit site. In addition, 2 support group meetings took place. One of the support group organised prevention and sensitization activities pertaining to conflicts at water points in order to promote peaceful coexistance.

Sensitization campaigns took place on 9 and 10 of April and were organised by the support group with IOM sup-port. The support group had noted that conflicts often erupted at water points. Moreover, some men stigma-tized women who had volunteered to help manage wa-ter points. The sensitization thus included a dialogue between men and women to foster peaceful and re-spectful cooperation with regards to self-management of the water points. In total, 245 persons participated in the sensitization campaigns. In the Doba transit site, 554 persons benefited from psy-chosocial activities. The group of women delegates met twice, setting out their objectives: involving women in the site management, identifying gender specific and identifying solutions, participating in discussions groups and clarifying roles and responsibilities. The women have also chosen different media in order to tackle their objectives: theater, singing, dance, and recitals. The the-ater group which includes youth residing at the site is still rehearsing in preparation for their show. The show will present sketches of their lives at the transit site. The rehearsal attracted a crowd of spectators, eager to watch and encourage the actors. 450 persons benefited from psychosocial activities in-cluding recreational activities, psychological first aid,

referrals and family visits in Gore transit site over the past week. In Doyaba transit site, 385 persons were provided with psychosocial support over the past week. This included psychological first aid, recreational activities (football games, ludo, and drawings) and referrals.

TRANSIT SITE UPDATES

Out of the 95,964 registered evacuees, 61,439 are re-portedly still in the TSs. Less than 50 people are remaining in Moundou transit site. Despite discussions of moving the site to another location in Moundou, our IOM focal point confirmed that for the moment the site will remain in its original location. Preliminary findings from DTM and on site observations show: An increasing arrivals in Doyaba transit site which high-lights the extreme need of shelter and provision and improvement of infrastructure including WASH services including latrines. The site has a dedicated area for the Unaccompanied and Separated Children (UASM) given their high number. The informal site in Doba has only makeshift shelters and less than 50% coverage of latrines. No site manage-ment structure exists at this site. Health services are provided by IRC. Raising insecurity in Sido transit site is a cause for con-cern. This is partially due to the accessibility of the space in the site. It is made of a formal and informal areas, with the provision of food and shelter services not cov-

ering the informal area. Health coverage is assured by MSF. Latrine coverage is very insufficient in both areas. There is a very limited presence of humanitarian part-ners. IOM is facilitating the transportation of evacuees from Gore transit site to the newly identified longer term site of Danamadja which has been lately stopped due to lack of shelter in the new site to accommodate the evacu-ees .

FUNDING REQUIREMENTS IOM has appealed for USD 29,939,700 million to respond to the needs in Chad as the result of the CAR crisis. This includes funding for providing life-saving assistance to Chadian returnees, CAR claimed nationals and other TCNs arriving in Chad. To date, the appeal remains critically underfunded, jeopardizing the delivery of the very much-needed assistance to the thousands of migrants fleeing the violence in the CAR.
