FY2017 NOMINATING COMMITTEE REPORT: The Committee reports no general balloting for FY2017 and only the Districts 3 and 4 elections of Board Members to the IACCB Board of Directors:

District 3 – Steve Anderson, Dickinson CCB – elected to his first term District 4 – Chris Ruhaak, Pottawattamie CCB – elected to his second term

FY2016 LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE REPORT: Continued in the 2nd year of a 3-year partnership with Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation for legislative

services from the Campbell/Patterson lobbying team for legislative sessions 2016, 2017 and 2018. Primary legislative efforts were to fully fund the REAP program, and to procure dedicated & sustained

funding for the Natural Resources and Outdoor Recreation Trust Fund (IWILL).

57th ANNUAL MEETING MINUTES Fort Dodge Best Western, September 17, 2016

The 57th Annual Business Meeting was called to order by President Mike Runyan (Monroe), at 8:00 AM

Runyan introduced the IACCB Board of Directors and Administrative Support Staff Present: Darrell Frerichs (Clay), Mark Vavroch (Poweshiek), Larry Wilson (Johnson), Tom Buckley (Lee), Chris Ruhaak (Pottawattamie), Mike Miner, (Butler), Mike Brandrup (Hamilton), Bridget Chatfield (Mitchell), and Tom Hazelton (CEO).

Runyan called for 1st time attendees to stand and introduce themselves; followed by County Board of Supervisors/Elected Officials; followed by any CCB Alumni.

ANNOUNCEMENTS: Runyan thanked all for attending, and specifically the exhibitors for their support. APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA: Runyan asked for any

changes and approval of the agenda. M/S VanOtterloo (Lyon) and Frerichs (Clay) – Motion Passed

APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: Runyan asked for

approval of the minutes of the 56th Annual Meeting, September 19, 2015. M/S – Ruhaak (Pottawattamie) / Chatfield (Mitchell) - (VOTE – Aye - Unanimous) Runyan noted that the minutes had been available online to review for the past several weeks.

IACCB FINANCIAL REPORT & UPDATES, ETC. : Runyan introduced Hazelton to provide the financial report and a few additional items, and a last call for any ballots to be received: * FY2016 FINAL REPORT – Hazelton reported a final balance for FY2016 of $35,045.00 which has been rolled into the IACCB Reserve * FY2017 APPROVED BUDGET – Hazelton presented the FY2017 Budget as approved by the Board of Directors at their May 2016 meeting. The FY2017 operating budget was projected at $178,000 showing a transfer to the reserve of $5,300.00 at year end. M/S by Weiss (Muscatine) / Metcalf (Decatur) to approve the FY2016 Final Financial Report. AYE – Unanimous * MEMBERSHIP REPORT – Reporting 99-county membership in FY2016, and 97 joined-to-date for FY2017.

* PREFERRED VENDORS – Reporting 29 Preferred Vendors in FY2016 – appreciation was extended to all vendors that supported IACCB in FY2016.

* MyCountyParks.com – Hazelton reviewed the recent updates to the county conservation website and recent recognitions from both ISAC and the National Association of Counties.

* ISAC & SUMMIT SERIES 2015 – Hazelton highlighted fresh IACCB involvement with ISAC; and the highly successful New County Conservation employee school – 50+ registered for 2016!

* TOURISM PARTNERSHIPS – Hazelton emphasized our ongoing partnerships with Iowa Tourism and encouraged ALL CCBs to take advantage of engaging with them!

* REAP & IWILL ADVOCACY – Hazelton briefly addressed the attendees about funding the Natural Resources and Outdoor Recreation Trust Fund and the historic efforts of CCBs to bring it about. He further highlighted the 2017 #FUNDTHE TRUST effort.

IZAAK WALTON LEAGUE OF AMERICA (Iowa Chapter) 41st ANNUAL HABITAT AWARDS* – Hazelton introduced Marion Striegel (Iowa IWLA) to announce the 2016 IWLA Habitat Improvement Awards, and presented plaques to the following counties: Counties with populations 20,000 and under: 1st – Hardin, 2nd – Poweshiek, 3rd - Kossuth Counties with populations 20,000 and over: 1st – Johnson, 2nd – Bremer, 3rd – Black Hawk

IACCB BOARD OF DIRECTORS RECOGNITION: Darrell Frerichs (Clay) (District 3), and Tom Buckley (Lee) IACCBE representative to the IACCB Board of Directors were both recognized for their service to the Board by Hazelton and presented with plaques

INVITATION TO THE 2017 CONFERENCE: Runyan welcomed Craig VanOtterloo (Lyon) and Robert Klocke (Sioux) to the podium to invite attendees to join them in 2017 in Sioux Center (Hosted by Lyon & Sioux CCBs)

CALL TO THE AUDIENCE: Runyan asked if there were any issues that members would like to address to the audience – no items were brought forth.

CREDENTIALS COMMITTEE – The 2016 Credentials Committee is pleased to report that:

A. Chris Ruhaak (Pottawattamie) has been re-elected to a 2nd 3-year term on the IACCB Board of Directors as a representative of IACCB’s District 4

B. Steve Anderson (Dickinson) has been elected to his first 3-year term to the IACCB Board of Directors as a representative of IACCB’s District 3.

ADDITIONAL ANNOUNCEMENTS: The President called for any additional announcements – none brought forward.

ADJOURNMENT: The President adjourned the meeting at 8:43 AM.
