DESCRIPTION
I presented a Power Point presentation that sought to educate planners and others who prepare submittals to the State Historic Preservation Office for review under the National Historic Preservation Act (Section 106) for Community Development Block Grant projects. Most CDBG projects do not encounter large or elaborate buildings, but the law does not discriminate among size or perceived significance ahead of the actual review. SHPO staff tend to be overworked and have little time for technical assistance. Providing the correct information to SHPO facilitates a more expedient review.TRANSCRIPT
