DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH

Smt V.Aruna Kumari , Head, Dept of English attended a UGC sponsored National Seminar on

“Trends in English Language & Literature in the 21st Century” at DAR College ,Nuzvid and presented a

paper entitled “ Communication Skills Predict Success” on 29th & 30th November,2013.

Ms G.Soni , Lecturer in English attended a UGC sponsored National Seminar on “Trends in English

Language & Literature in the 21st Century” at DAR College ,Nuzvid and presented a paper entitled

“Effective Communication through effective listening, speaking and self - practice” on 29th & 30th November

2013.

Smt V.Aruna Kumari, Head, Dept of English attended a 2 day workshop organized by the Krishna

University, Machilipatnam at KVSR Siddhartha College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Vijayawada on

“ASSESSMENT AND ACCREDITATION:A Tool to Enhance Quality And Excellence in Higher

Education” on 23rd & 24th January,2014.

Ms.G.Soni, Lecturer in English attended a 2 day workshop organized by the Krishna University,

Machilipatnam at KVSR Siddhartha College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Vijayawada on “ASSESSMENT

AND ACCREDITATION: A Tool to Enhance Quality And Excellence in Higher Education” on 23rd &

24th January,2014.

Department of English completed a 45 day Certificate Course on “Communication Skills and

Personality Development” to the III year Degree students by Sri TRK Singh of EEzee English Institute,

Vijayawada on 30-01-14. Certificates were distributed to 31 students who have completed the course

successfully.

DEPARTMENT OF ZOOLOGY

The Department of Zoology has organized a field trip to the III B.Sc(E.M&T.M) Students to Rajiv

Gandhi Centre for Aquaculture, Konathanapadu & Manikonda on 19.11.2013.

Miss P.Pravallika of B.Z.C (E.M) (R.No. Y93101022) (2009-2012) achieved the Prof. P.N.Ganapathi

Memorial Gold medal awarded for securing highest marks in Zoology paper of three years put together

having passed all examinations at first appearance , during the Academic year 2010-2013 .

on our Earth ’’ by Dr. M. Satyanarayana ( Rtd) Reader in Environmental studies on 29.1.2014.

The Department of Physics has organized a guest lecture on “Applications of Physics & Career

Guidance “on 27th Dec 2013. By Sri P.Nirmal Raja, Marketing Director, Fractional Analytics Ltd. Singapore.

The Department of Physics has organized a Student Seminar on “Nano Technology” on 20th November,

2013.

DEPARTMENT OF BOTANY

The Department of Botany has arranged a Guest lecture on ‘Cultivation and Maintenance of Herbal

plants” by Sri. D. Madhusudhana Rao, B. Com, FCA on 22-01-2014 for the students of II BZC under IQAC.

The Department of Botany has arranged a field trip for the students of II BZC on 22-01-2014 to

Thenneru to study the herbal garden with Medicinal plants under IQAC.

DEPARTMENTS OF HISTORY/POLITICS/ECONOMICS

The Departments of History, Politics and Economics have arranged a Historical Tour to

“AMARAVATHI” all the B.A Students on 12-01-2014.

DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE

23 students of III B.Sc(Computers) participated in a Workshop on “Data Wear housing and Mining” at

K.B.N College, Vijayawada on 27-12-2013.

Students of I,II & III B.Sc(Computers) have donated a Sewing Machine to Sirisha Rehabilitation

Centre, Vuyyuru on 31-12-2013.

LITERARY AND CULTURAL COMMITTEE

Our college students have participated in “Krishna District Youth Festival” at P.B Siddhartha

Engineering College, Vijayawada on 24-12-2013 and won the following prizes:

Mandal level:

1st place- M.Gouthu 3rd B.Sc (TM) - Essay writing (Telugu)

2nd -place D.Jayasri 3rd B.Sc (EM) - Essay writing (English)

District level: held on 24-12-2013 at Musical College, satyanarayanapuram.

DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION

1) On 6th November, 2013 K.Sudha Bhagya Lakshmi of III B.A. and I.D.L. Bhavani of II B.A.

represented the Krishna University Women Kabadi Team in South India Inter University Women Kabadi

Tournament. K.Sudha Bhagya Lakshmi got the opportunity to lead the team and won the 3rd place.

2) On 25th, 26th & 27th November, 2013 the Dept. of Phy. Edn. organized the Krishna University

Intercollegiate Athletic meet for Men and Women and the Women Team won the Championship runners up

title.

3) On 7th December, 2013 our college Cricket Men team won the 1st place in east zone Mr.S.Bose babu of

III B.Sc. got selection to represent the Cricket

4) On 4th and 5th January, 2014 the Dept. of Phy. Edn. Organized the Krishna University Inter Collegiate

Weight lifting, Power lifting and Best Physique competitions.

5) On 4th, 5th and 6th January, 2014 the Dept. of Phy. Edn. Organized the Krishna University Inter

Collegiate Soft ball tournament cum University team selections for Men and Women and college our college

men team won the 1st place. 6 members of our college team got selection to represent the Krishna University

team in All India Inter University soft ball tournament.

6) In the Month of January, 2014 our college men cricket team participated in Eenadu Cricket

championship and reached up to Semi finals.

N.C.C

1. 10 cadets have attended Army Attachment Camp held at Hyderabad from 01.10.2013 to 15.10.2013.

2. One cadet K.Vivek, has attended Pre-Republic Day Camp at Secunderabad from 05.11.2013 to

15.11.2013.

3. 42 Cadets have attended CATC Camp at Nuzvidu from 03.01.2014 to 12.01.2014. Our Students won

the 20 Medals (18Gold and 2 Silver) in various activities in this camp.

K.N.V.Krishna Chaitanya NCC Cadet of II inter MPC has attended Tal Sainik Camp at New Delhi

N.S.S A Blood donation camp was conducted in our college on 18thNov 2013 in association with Lions Club

of Vijayawada and Andhra Bank, Vuyyuru.

NSS volunteers participated in AIDS awareness rally on 1st Dec 2014.

NSS special camp was conducted in Yakamaru village from 18th to 24th Jan 2014.

19th Jan 2014.
