Where is it?

Ireland is situated in the Atlantic Ocean and is separated from Great Britain by the Irish Sea.

In 1922 the island was divided into Northern Ireland and the Irish free state which in 1949 became the independent Republic of Ireland.

Most popular Irish saint is St.Patrick. He brought Christianity to the island and by means of shamrock explained to Irish a doctrine of a sacred Trinity. That's why shamrock is one of symbols of the country.

Dublin is the capital of Ireland and the main port on the Irish sea. This city is beautiful and is one of the most ancient cities of Ireland.

Emerald island is the second name of Ireland. Ireland is also called the Big Village. Here there are no huge cities and the life flows silently and calmly.

On the south part of the island there are beautiful streets and the Dublin Castle, The National Gallery, The Bank of Ireland and the Trinity College.
