Syntron® Iris Flow Control Valves are available in three types with openings from 4 to

Syntron ® Iris Flow Control Valves
Syntron® Iris Flow Control Valvesare used for many applications and materials, from packaging andbagging to free-flowing powdersand granular materials. They providereliable, adjustable control and shut-off of free-flowing bulk materialsfrom bins, hoppers and chutes.
These valves can be intermediatelypositioned from fully open to fullyclosed by simply rotating the handlethrough an arc up to 180 degrees. A variety of sleeve materials areavailable to match your specificapplication requirements.
Syntron Iris Flow Valves are a cost-effective alternative to butterfly andslide gate valves. They are designedto permit free flow of materialswithout binding or seizing of thevalve, and without damaging yourproduct.

Sleeve (nylon or other material)with retaining ring at each end.
With the upper end fixed,the lower end is rotated,gradually reducing aperture.
At 180 degrees of rotation, theaperture is completely closed.

FV Series Iris Flow Control Valve Specifications
Operation:FV Series Control Valves operate by rotating the control handle through a 180-degree arc to vary the size of the aperture from closed to fully open. To lock the valve in a selected position, turn the control handleclockwise and tighten.

OperationSFV/DFV Iris Flow Control Valves operate by rotating the control handle through a 180-degree arc. The trigger-type handle locks in multipleprecise aperture settings for rapid and frequent opening and closing. Allmodels (except the SFV/DFV-12 and SFV/DFV-15) include five aperturenotch settings at 45 degree intervals. The SFV/DFV-12 features 19 aperturenotch settings and the SFV/DFV-15 features 16 aperture notch settings.

Syntron® 15 Control Valve and Optional Equipment
Adapter Spools and Wear Sleeves*When handling abrasive, fine or dusty materials, adapter spools and wearsleeves may be required. The spools are cast aluminum, drilled for installa-tion on the hopper flange and the valve. Iris Flow Control Valves installed onhoppers or chutes which discharge into open containers may require a singleadapter assembly consisting of one spool and one wear sleeve. Valvesinstalled in continuous chutes or ducts may require a dual adapter assemblyconsisting of two spools and one wear sleeve.
