BS8300 DOC M REQUIREMENTSAlso known as the Equality Act or DDA gives guidance to creating ease of access for people who require assitance. For example, wheelchair users, people with walking aids, children and people with low upper body strength. For door closers this means that it allows the door to open with ease, with less than 30 Newtons from the leading edge of the door, but will also allow the door to close to meet EN1154.

Back Check Feature

This back check action provides resistance within the door closer to prevent the door leaf from

being thrown open . This prevents damage to the door, door frame and door handles caused by

people kicking or throwing the door open and also by the door being violently blown open by the

wind. The angle and resistance of the back check can be varied according to your requirements.

When using a door closer with a back check facility it is worth remembering that this facility puts

extra strain on the door hinges

Is a standard that relates to Door Closing Devices and classifies products by test cylces, door weight,

corrosion resistance and behaviour in a fire test, defining if the device is suitable for a fire door.

For endurance, corrosion and load bearing requirements our hinges are tested and certified to EN1935 from Grade 7 up to and including Grade 14. Grade 11, 13 and 14 hinges are also Certifire registered. Intumescent hinge pads should be fitted as standard on fire door applications.
