Indian StandardSPECIFICATION FOR
FENTHION GRANULES
o. FOREWORD0.1 This Indian Standard was adopted by the Indian Standards Institution on 29 January 1980, after draft finalized by the Peat ControlSectional Committee had been approved by the Agricultural andFood Products Division Council and the Chemical Division Council.
0.2 Fenthion granules are used as contact and stomach insecticides witha useful penetrant action.
0.3 Fenthion granules are generally manufactured to contain 5 percent( m/m ) of fenthion.
0." In the preparation of this standard due consideration has been givento the provisions of the Insecticides Act, 1968 and the Rules framedthereunder. However, this standard is subject to the restrictions imposedunder these, wherever applicable.
0.5 For the purpose of deciding whether a particular requirement ofthis standard is complied with, the final value, observed or calculated, expressing the result of a test or analysis, shall be rounded off in accordance with IS : 2·1960·. The number of significant places retained inthe rounded off value should be the same as that of the specified valuein this standard.
1. SCOPE
1.1 This standard prescribes the requirements and the methods ofsampling and test for fenthion granules.
2. REQ,UlREMENTS
2.1 eo••titaeDts-- 'I'he material shall consist of fenthion technical as theonly active ingredient impregnated on suitable carrier(s) together withbinderts), stabilizerfs) and/or other formulants.
