Case Study
Diminishing Litho Print?
BackgroundA large Corporate work wear company was looking for a way for their customers to use pre printed catalogues with branding in the clients logo. The pre printed book blocks were stored at our FM site and we
printed the litho blanks storing them ready to overprint. The Work wear Company sales team were then charged with securing orders from their clients based on price matrix for supplying priced and un-priced catalogues with bespoke covers. Taylor Bloxham created the
artwork, and over printed the covers to then be bound and delivered.
HistoryThis worked well for 2 years with over 9 different covers being printed
and order quantities averaging 300 copies per order.
Problem?Then the Financial Squeeze hit!!
Third year of the project saw orders fall and quantities required drop - the Client started to look for a different way to get the catalogues out to
their clients at reduced rates and lower quantities
Solution!Working with our digital arm we were able to provide a competitively
priced matrix to start to digitally print the outer covers in smaller quantities and then bind the catalogue.
This allowed the client to expand the number of different covers available to 24 and keep costs down in the process.
OutcomeSo, although the litho element is reduced we were able to offer a
solution along the personalised digital route and continue a fantastic working relationship
