is too dedication too bad

Is too dedication too bad? The professional world is interesting and here strange things happen. A recent happening with my friend who is the believer of the quote “Work is Worship” is the one which I should share here. A task was assigned to her and her colleague & as it happens with all the tasks a sharp deadline was given. They both started doing the task with due care and diligence but because of some happening her colleague has to take leave. Understanding the urgency of the project, she informed her manager that she will be completing her colleague’s task too. (It was not such that she didn’t have any other work, so she had opted for it.) A general response to this initiative must be appreciation... but not all have such mentality. Some people think that they only are the one who is very busy and others are free…very free. It’s surprising that her manager’s view to this was she didn’t have another task to do, so she had decided to opt for her colleagues work too. A person who feels appreciated will always do more than what is expected. This incident really forced us to think “Is too dedication too bad?” Do the people who have a drive for the work fool? None of my friends had an answer to this. That time I also didn’t have any answer but when I thought about it... I realized that dedication can never be bad. Sometimes it might happen that you feel cheated or fooled because of your drive towards work but one or the other day it definitely bears fruit. They laugh at you because they have no idea of what you’re capable of. Actually, the true value of the dedication could be understood by the people who themselves are dedicated, others who don’t know what dedication is will always see fakeness, show-off in the dedication of dedicated people. Make sure you don’t start yourself seeing yourself through the eyes of those who don’t value you. Know your worth even if they don’t.

(It was not such that she didn’t have any other work, so she had opted for it.)

A general response to this initiative must be appreciation... but not all have such mentality.
