Display 3-character LCDBacklightingRed colored diffused lighting for display.
Water IntegrityFront will withstand direct water spray.
AlarmAudio and visual alarm indicatesremaining fuel total has dropped belowa preset alarm value.
Flow0.5 to 34 US gallons per hour2 to 129 liters per hour0.4 to 28 imperial gallons per hourThe instrument may show erratic
readings or indicate 0 flow below .5 gph.LogsLogs record fuel used up to 999 displayunits. Both Trip Log and Total Log are savedin memory at power down. Both TripLog and Total Log can be reset.
Fuel RemainingUser enters a fuel value into memory. The quantity of fuel used is
automatically subtracted from the total. This value remains in memory at powerdown.
Operating Voltage8 VDC to 16.5 VDC
Operating Temperature0C to 50C (32F to 122F)

IMPORTANTAlways install the Fuel Flow Transducer AFTER the primary filter. The primary filter must bea good quality water separator type with a minimum filtration of 30 microns or better. (10 or 2micron. The lower the micron rating the finer the filtration) Failure to provide this level offiltration protection will result in inaccurate readings or total failure or damage to the transducer. If there is not a suitable length of hose after the primary filter, an in-line filter (30 micron or
better) should be fitted before the Fuel Flow transducer. Damage due to insufficient filtrationis not covered by warranty. If in doubt please consult your local Marine dealer for adviceprior to installation.

Always wire your Fuel Management Gauge into your boats ignition so that whenthe engine is turned on, the gauge is recording the fuel used. If an accessoryswitch is used and you forget to turn the unit on then the gauge will not haverecorded the fuel used and will be inaccurate. If you are unsure how to do this, contact a qualified marine electrician.
The Fuel Management Gauge isdesigned for above or below deckinstallation. Select a position that is:

Wiring ConnectionKeep electrical and transducer cablesaway from alternator or other noisegenerating electrical cables. Avoidconnecting the instrument to power
circuits that share loads with ignition, alternators, inverters and radiotransmitters. Electrical power supplyconnections should always be as shortas possible.
Connect the red wire from the gauge tothe positive supply through a 1 amp fuseor a 1 amp circuit breaker. Connect thegreen wire from the gauge to the
electrical ground.
Connect the fuel flow transducer to thegauge as follows:

Installation of the fuel flow transducerThe fuel flow transducer is designed forinstallation in Coast Guard approved 3/ 8"flexible fuel line. The transducer MUST beinstalled AFTER the main fuel filter. It shouldbe located well away from any area where itwill be effected by excessive heat or vibrationfrom the engine. It is preferable to mount thetransducer in a vertical position.
Drain all the fuel from the flexible fuel line. Cutthe fuel line and using the fuel hose attachingclips provided install the transducer so that theFUEL IN side of the transducer connects tothe fuel tank.

Instrument SetupSelecting units of measureThe Fuel Management fuel flow meter willindicate fuel values in US gallons, Litersand Imperial gallons. To change the currentsetting perform the following steps.1 Power up the unit while holding down
the key.
Hold down during power up 2 When the unit is on, release the key.
The display will indicate the currentdisplay unit with:
3 To select the display unit desired, usethe and keys to change the value.
4 To exit this mode, press and hold boththe and keys simultaneously forone second.
Press and hold to exit
Information will now be indicated in theselected display unit.
CalibrationThe fuel transducer supplied with thefuel flow meter will provide readings atbetter than 5% accuracy. Individualcalibration will increase this level ofaccuracy to better than 2% over a fuelflow range of 2 to 32 US gallons perhour.
1 Reset the total log value to zero (seepage 9).
2 Use a known amount of fuel. The largerthe amount the more accurate thecalibration will be.
3 Take note of the actual volume of fuelused and the fuel used indicated by thetotal log. If these two totals are differentthe instrument may require calibration.
4 Press and hold the key while
applying power.
Hold down during power up
5 Release the key. The display willflash current total log value.
6 Use the or keys to make thedisplay indicate the actual volume offuel used.
7 Press both keys simultaneously 2seconds to exit.
Press and hold to 2 second
The fuel flow meter is now calibrated.

Use the followin g steps to calibrat e yourfuel flow meter:
While a properly calibrated unit shouldprovide accuracy within the published limits, the user should also have a level sender orfuel level gauge installed in the boat. This isnecessary due to possible operator inducederrors such as forgetting to reset the fuelused when filling the tank, or other operatorcontrolled actions that may render thedevice inaccurate.Use the following stepsto calibrate your fuel flow meter:

Flow AveragingThi s fun ctio n sets the per iod over which the fuel flow is averaged. The
period can be set in the range of 1 to99 seconds. Normally engines do notdraw fuel from the tank at a constantrate. Instead, they draw fuel at a highrate a short time until the carburetor bowl or injection reservoir is full, andthen draw no fuel for a few seconds. If the true flow rate were displayed, itwould be too erratic to read.
Usually a value of 10-15 seconds willgive satisfactory results for two strokenaturally carbu retor engines. Four stroke engines that use electronic fuelinjection may require longer periods. If the readi ng see ms err ati c you canincrease the period.
A large number means the fuel flowdisplay will have a slow response timebut more accurate average readings, and a short period means the displaywill have a quick response time anderr atic dis pla y rea din gs. The flowperiod setting only affects the fuel flow
display. It does not affect the fuel usedor fuel remaini ng meas ureme nt interms of accuracy.
