This Indian Standard (First Revision) which is identical with ISO 2941 : 2009 ‘Hydraulic fluid power —Filter elements — Verification of collapse/burst pressure rating’ issued by the International Organizationfor Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation ofthe Fluid Power Systems Sectional Committee and approval of the Production and General EngineeringDivision Council.

This standard was originally published as IS 8384 : 1977 ‘Method of test for collapse/burst resistanceof oil hydraulic filter elements’ based on ISO 2941 : 1974. This first revision has been harmonizedwith ISO 2941 : 2009 by adoption to make pace with the latest developments that have taken placeat international level.

The text of ISO Standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard withoutdeviations. Certain terminology and conventions are, however, not identical to those used in IndianStandards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:

a) Wherever the words ‘International Standard’ appear, referring to this standard, they should beread as ‘Indian Standard’.

b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker while in Indian Standards the current practiceis to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
