FINAL PHOTOGRAPH CHOSEN FOR MY POSTER

Before my photo-shoot, I have prepared a PowerPoint presentation of similar celebrities and models that pose in such ways for a close up shot in order to give my model an idea on how to control and mange his facial features in order to achieve a provocative eff ect and match up to the codes and conventions of R&B appearances. For my male poster, I did not have to ask my model (who also has requested to be anonymous) to match up to a certain dress code as I wanted to capture his facial features. I believe that the eye color of my male model achieves a somewhat attractive and a very provocative outcome of my poster. I have addressed him as ‘’Troy Morgan’’ which is an R&B celebrity name I have created my own. I have used QuarkXPress and Photoshop Adobe CS6.

PHOTOSHOP ADOBE CS6

For my main image of my model Troy Morgan, I have used Photoshop Adobe CS6 tools such as: The Spot Heal ing Brush Tool in order to perfect his perfect ion in order to

match up to the codes and conventions of the R&B music genre magazines which represent, both female and male art ists, in a perfect and somewhat unreal ist ic way with a perfect complet ion ignoring any fl aws. However, I have not ful ly concealed his imperfect ion as I personal ly bel ieve perfect ions are what makes a person who they are. I have however used the spot heal ing brush tool just enough to match up the codes and conventions of my music magazine genre as stated beforehand.

I have used the Eyedropper Tool to select certain facial tones to achieve an even complet ion for the same purposes I have used the Spot Heal ing tool .

By adjust ing the br ightness and contrast, exposure, levels and curves as wel l as the vibrancy to the or iginal photo I have achieved my fi nal outcome.

By adjust ing the br ightens and contrast, I bel ieve I have made the eye color of my model stand out therefore I hope it achieves a more provocative appearance.

I have used the Burn tool to make specifi c places of facial features stand out and achieve higher contrast.

I have used QuarkXPress, similarly to the the poster of the female artist, to manage and organize the layout. I have decided to keep the male poster very simple. This is due to the fact that I believe simplicity enables the model’s appearance not to be overpowered by text and the format of the poster.

I have used the Gills Sans Ultra Bold font without layering it with copies of text to archive the double eff ect as I did on my other poster and the reasoning behind this was also to achieve simplicity.

The logo of my magazine is still in the right left corner on the poster to remind the audience that it is apart of the actual magazine. I have created this to hopefully achieve consistency throughout my magazine.
