in the health care bill because well

have bi-partisan debates on C-Span"Barack Obama

When will the general public acce[tthis President for the lying weakling heis? His biggest faux pas is allowinghimself to be used by congressionalDems. He has let women, old menand gays write the legislation on histhree biggest initiatives: the stimulus, health care reform, and cap and trade. Then he lets them write the speeches.Perhaps the Pelosi/Reid/Frank PoodleParty wants to keep it that way for thesake of his popularity. He's either aflailer or cleverly leaving the door opento blame them for his flops when hecan no longer Blame Bush.

Regardless of his C-Span decla-rations - 8 different ones in all - wereleft with the first American President

that treats the very people that electedhim as though they were chumps. How sad is it when a US Presidentscredibility is the laughing stock of guyslike the N. Koreans and the Iranians?

We like the Devil may care approachyou use each month. Its good to knowsomeone isnt afraid to say whattheyre thinking these days. I wanted

to send you an excerpt from theAmerican Thinker web-site written byRobyn of Berkely, a self-professedrecovering liberal.

The word "rape" has an intriguinghistory. It originally denoted the violentseizure of property. I'm going to usethe term in both the historic and mod-ern sense to convey what is happen-ing today. This country is being

raped. It's no coincidence that therace for the presidency began with vilebehavior against Hillary Clinton -- ahigh-tech wilding of sorts, with herbody and sexuality defiled. But theabuse of Clinton was nothing com-pared to what has been done to SarahPalin.

And just like in a gang rape, peoplewho could have done somethingabout it didn't. In fact, the liberal media

and many Democrats have stoodaround watching, egging on the play-ers. We also have the economicrapes, the constant shrieks of"Gimme, gimme." Give me what youhave because I want it. In the criminalarena, when the bad guys are given awink-wink, or a "boys will be boys," or,"He's a victim of white privilege," theperp becomes more emboldened. And

he's even more contemptuous of aculture that lets him get away with, quite literally at times, murder.

Some knew about the red light oncars, but not the *112.

It was about 1:00 p.m. in the after-

noon, and Lauren was driving to visit afriend. An UNMARKED police carpulled up behind her and put his lightson. Lauren's parents have always toldher never to pull over for an unmarkedcar on the side of the road, but rather

to wait until they get to a gas station, etc. Lauren had actually listened toher parents advice, and promptlycalled *112 on her cell phone to tellthe police dispatcher that she wouldnot pull over right away.

The dispatcher checked to see ifthere were police cars where she wasand there weren't, and he told her to

keep driving, remain calm and thathe had back up already on the way.Ten minutes later 4 cop cars sur-rounded her and the unmarkedcar behind her. One policeman wentto her side and the others surroundedthe car behind. They pulled the guyfrom the car and tackled him to theground. The man was a convictedrapist and wanted for other crimes.I never knew about the *112 Cell

Phone Feature, but especially for awoman alone in a car, you should notpull over for an unmarked car.*Speaking to a service representative

at Bell Mobility confirmed that *112was a direct link to State trooper info.

True ColorsObama is consistent. He flies no col-

ors. HE gives a speech, includes the

usual lie or two, makes declarations and

then, he fails. So goes the way of many

politicians, were used to it but the rest

    of the World?

    Gitmo: Oh well.

    Health Care debates on C-Span?

The Israeli dilemma: They wait until

Obama arrives for a building freeze chatbefore telling him that Jlem is not a ter-

ritory and that 1600 new homes are cur-

    rently under construction. His obvious

defference shown to the Muslim world is

    revealing but why?

Iran: He demands that they come

clean or sanctions with bite will surely

follow in two weeks. That was 4 months

ago and Mahmoud is still laughing.

Financial reform: There were 15 big

global banks before the financial crisishit. During the crisis, however, the col-

lapse of Lehman Brothers led govern-

ments to encourage other banks - by

means of large amounts of taxpayers'

cash - to buy up the not-so-well banks.

The BofA's purchase of Merrill Lynch for

example. We went from having 15

banks to having around six. The remain-

ing banks have more power than ever

as their importance is now set in regula-tory stone - and they know it. Reform?

While the rest of the World thumbs it

nose at the red, white and blue, the

clown in the White House is thumbing

    his nose at us.

    The Scheme Of ThingsOf Thingsvvsws

    Universal Voter

    RegistrationBy Roger Franklin.

    As citizens of democratic countries

become less vigilant, a form of apathysets in rendering the usual methods of

    political correction like "throwing the

bums out" less and less effective.

When political leaders know that the

voting public is focused elsewhere, as

    they constantly perpetuate with diver-

    sions of ostensible cultural nature

such as gay marriage/dont ask dont

tell, warming, hate speech, H1N1 and

multiculturism, the tendency will be to-wards these leaders' ever-greater

accumulation of power. To this writer,

its what were witnessing today, the

    greatest power struggle since the

    Boston Tea Party.

    "Orwellian" describes the situation,

idea, or societal condition that George

    Orwell identified as being destructive

to the welfare of a free society. It con-

notes an attitude and a policy of con-

    trol by propaganda, surveillance, mis-

information, (lies) denial of truth, and

manipulation of the past, including the

    "unperson" a person whose past

existence is expunged from the public

    record and memory, practiced by

modern repressive governments.Often, this includes the circumstances

    depicted in his novels, particularly

    Nineteen Eighty-Four.

    Contemporary Orwellians, aka the

Dems, know at least what theyre try-

ing to do here. Theyre desperate to

stay in power and willing to go down

    gambling. The health care Trojan

Horse has proven so transparent that

team Obama has their fearless leaderblowing one smoke screen after

another in hopes that the average

dullard will be herded along until the

unpopular thought will be a distant

    memory, or hopefully, totally obscur-

    ed.

    From ObamaCare passage the pitch

    morphed leisurely into the Nuclear

Summit, a nuclear Iran, both excer-

sizes in futility, and from there, a few

days later, it was all about shutting

down NASA. And then it was all about

    Financial Reform and finally extend-

ing unemployment, keeping a fewthousand on the dole after having

been on it for six months. A victim

card, any old port in a storm.

So, where are they going with all

this? If you dont think the Orwellians

arent planning for your future you

may want to rethink a bit. In addition

    to getting some distance between

them and the health care bomb, the

next logical step is to get a little pay-

    back from the victims.

If the Dems can hold on to the slight-

est majority in the House and Senant,

by December or January one of their

top guns will propose universal voter

    registration. What is universal voter

registration? It means all of the state

laws on elections will be overridden by

a federal mandate. The feds will tell

the states: 'take everyone on every

list of welfare that you have, takeeveryone on every list of unemployed

you have, take everyone on every list

of property owners, take everyone on

every list of driver's license holders

whether legal Americans or not and

register them to vote regardless of

    whether they want to be.

We appear to be up against the will-

ing victims of the the current

    Orwellians. The miscreants in Con-

gress are creating a massive force of

voter control and with the current

majority in such a state of confusion,

they might very well pull it off.

    White Trash?

If watching the diminishing Repsand todays Dems go at in such unbri-

dled spin and cunning werent such an

intrigue, it would be a waste of time.

    The 1994 election, which unseated

the Dems majority, was described by

    the LameStream press, without any

evidence, as an eruption of angry,

    white, male voters. Today, according

to the same media vehicles, the Tea

Party revolt is being led by racist, vio-

lent, and primitive. A tearful NancyPelosi ostensibly fears chaos in the

streets and Bill the Monica Thrill

    Clinton likens them to terrorist.

Its apparent that the Dems are lay-

ing claim and hanging on to the

peace keeper moniker with no vio-

lence to point to. The implication lying

just below the surface is that angry,

white, males that are racist, violent,

and primitive are synonymous towhite trash and have no place or

    business in the public eye.

Just one writers opinion, but if this

is the best that they can come up with,

then it is the Dems who are the

dullards and the Reps would do well

to quit educating them by reacting to

such obvious ploys. WIth the excep-

tion of the Democrats charges of vio-

lence and racism, there are none in

evidence so why all the defensivemeasures?

As the only thing standing in the

way of the Dems, God bless the

Republicans. The pity is that theyre

the only organization standing in their

way. The Reps are all we have but

choose to spend their time crying foul.

Let Pelosi be a silly, phony bimbo.

Allow Bill Clinton to spin on anything

he wants and when Obama opens hismouth, knowing that a lie or two will

surely follow, let them carry on. The

Dems are crashing, lets let them. rf

    Team Bamas Next Coup:

    The New Orwellians

Contemporary Orwellians, aka the Dems, know at least

what theyre trying to dohere. Theyre desperate tostay in power and willing to

    go down gambling.

    Cultures &

    Genes

Holy Mol folks the mainstreamnews is suddenly all about Wall Street

Reform and who created this eco-

nomic mess we're in. All of a sudden

its red-hot important to know who was

at fault when they know damned good

    and well what happened.

    More smoke, another "issue" to

keep the troops divided and from

    thinking about foreclosures and

unemployment. There is no doubt that

it started under Clinton who saw racehustlers like Jackson and Sharpton

    gathering support in large numbers.

And when Bush had the chance to

curb it he didn't. For both parties it

was all about expanding the voter

base. For Clinton it was all about mak-

ing home ownership a "right" rather

    than the hard-earned priviledge that

its always been. Due to the stunning

brilliance of Jackson and Sharpton, who reasoned that blacks had first

been deprived of wealth back when

    slaves were denied future wealth

    accumulated from home ownership,

Clinton saw a way to garner the black

vote. They didn't call him Slick Willie

for naught. Let them buy homes at all

costs and their cost is what we're all

    paying today.

Nobody has a right to home owner-

ship, a good job or health care. Home

ownership is and always will be about

hard work, living within your means,

saving the money for the down and

understanding and living up to thecontract. A good job is something one

    prepares himself for via education

    according to his/her natural abilities

and interests. Sorry folks, but we're

not all born with equal capabilities.

The Dems could care less about any

of these noble causes and think only

of staying in control. Dupeing minori-

    ties and "multicultural" groups into

believing that they are the saviors of

thier "rights" and what's "fair" for thesake of power is evil personified and

    they're getting away with it.

    Through sheer assumption and rep-

etition, the view that any under-repre-

sentation of any group in desirable

    situations or their over-representa-

tion in undesirable situations must be

due to the way they are treated byothers, has become the prevailing

dogma. It just aint so folks.

Its insane, not only the media and

    politicians, but "intellectuals" and

even the highest courts in the land

    presume discrimination when some

    groups are under-represented in an

employers work force or are over-

    represented among school drop-

outs, teen pregnancies or children dis-

ciplined in school. Tests that show

some groups more proficient than oth-

ers are declared to be culturally

    biased. Higher infant mortality among

some groups is assumed to be soci-

etys fault for not providing access to

    prenatal care for all. Multiculturalism

paints the poor into a corner, where

    they can nurse their resentments

instead of advancing their skills and

    their prospects. The beneficiaries are

politicians and race hustlers folks, just

    look around.

One of the most ominous develop-

ments of our time has been the multi-

cultural dogma that all cultures are

equal. It is one of the many unsub-

    stantiated assertions that have

    become fashionable among self-con-

    gratulatory elites, with hard evidence

being neither asked for nor offered.A major factor in the housing boom

and bust that created the present eco-

    nomic predicament was massive gov-

    ernment intervention in the housing

    market, ostensibly to correct discrimi-

nation in mortgage lending. How did

they know that there was discrimina-

    tion? Because blacks were turned

down for mortgage loans at a higher

rate than whites. Think about it for

God's sake! As if a devoted capitolist

would give second thoughts to the

color of a man that qualifies for a

home loan? Its absurd folks. If a guy

qualifies he buys, if he doesnt hes

been able to buy anyway and thats

the name of the tune were singing.

a unique identifier every time you surf

Internet to work. It is literally the

address of your personal computer on

IP addresses, in and of themselves,

    Kid SpySafeDriver Wireless Vehicle Monitor

There are times I genuinely feel sorry for teenagers

these days. Usually a lot of people grumble about all the new electronics thatkids get to use, that they never got to have as kids. Personally, I really have nodesire to be a kid in this day and age. I was one of the many that enjoyed driv-ing fast down back roads. Had my parents had this device Id have never hadany fun. Now that being said, its an awesome day and age to help parents makesure their kids arent up to anything stupid.

This SafeDriver Wireless Vehicle Monitor is easy to install and has a tamper-proof pin number. The device records the highest speed traveled on their trip, plus it keeps track of any sudden braking. place was hopping with music and loud conversation and every once in a while'the lights would turn off.and the place would erupt into cheers. However, whenthe revelers saw the nun, the room went dead silent. She walked up to the bar-tender, and asked, 'May I please use the restroom? The bartender replied, 'OK,but I should warn you that there is a statue of a naked man in there wearingonly a fig leaf.' 'Well, in that case, I'll just look the other way,' said the nun. So

the bartender showed the nun to the back of the restaurant. After a few minutes, she came back out, and the whole place stopped to give the nun a loud roundof applause. She went to the bartender and said, 'Sir, I don't understand. Whydid they applaud for me just because I went to the restroom?' ' Well, now theyknow you're one of us,' said the bartender, I still don't understand,' said the puz-zled nun. 'You see,' laughed the bartender, 'every time someone lifts the figleaf, the lights go out. snick snic

With plenty of experience to call on,we opine that Robert D. Marzbanianhas developed a knack for getting

away with fraud. Wed been hearingthe stories for a few years but until theShoreline Ballroom episode, therewas no reason to dig into it. But a tripto Beaufort for a little public documentresearch introduced us to one of thesmoothest, most creative operatorsweve encountered for years.

It seems that Robert D. has usedthis con so many times, and has madeand banked so much money with it,that its just a matter of time beforehes off to another place in SC workingit all over again. SC because its obvi-ous that hes got the bankruptsey

promising business concept, launchesa corporation, opens a bank accountin its name and deposits several hun-dred thousand. He then goes public

with it, has stock certificates printedup and begins seeking investors.Happens all the time and it all appearsto be business as usual.

As investors come aboard and buyin, he issues them corporate stockcertificates depending on the amountof their investment and enters into aninvestment agreement. In theShorelines case, each share is worth$5300 which enables small investors

to buy in. At this point, all neat andlegal.

    Bio:

Billie HolidayBillie Holiday stands as one of jazz's

    great vocalists. The inspiration for

    many aspiring singers today,

    Holiday had a singular voice

    steeped in aching emotion and

fueled by an uncanny sense of

swing. She not only stamped her

distinctive signature on such stan-dards as "Night And Day," but she

    also contributed remarkable origi-

nals to the jazz canon, including

"Strange Fruit" and "God Bless The

    Child." Influenced by Bessie Smith

    and Louis Armstrong, Holiday not

only sang with passion and convic-

tion, but she also improvised with a

    trumpeter's sensibility.

Holiday was born April 7, 1915, in

    Baltimore. Even though her father,

    Clarence Holiday, was a

    guitar/banjo player in Fletcher

    Henderson's band, she didn't break

into the music world until she was in

her late teens. After being signed by

    Columbia Records' John Hammond

in 1933 for her debut record

    (accompanied by members of

    Benny Goodman's studio band),

Holiday went on to work with Teddy

    Wilson, Buck Clayton and Lester

Young, who crowned her with the

nickname Lady Day. She alsotoured with the Count Basie

Orchestra in 1937 and Artie Shaw in

    1938.

Holiday became a star on the

New York club scene during the

early '40s and her post-war work forthe Decca label gave her popular

    acclaim, especially when she

    recorded "Lover Man," which

    became a hit.

However, the Holiday story is a

tragic one. As a result of her impov-

    erished upbringing and her constant

    bouts with drug abuse (especially

heroin), her career was marked by a

    series of exaggerated peaks and

valleys. By the time she was record-

ing for Verve in the '50s, the golden

days of her jazz vocalizing were

long gone. In July 1959 she col-

lapsed, and on July 17, 1959, died

in a hospital several days later of a

    kidney ailment.

Holiday's music continues to beincredibly popular, and the best win-

dow into her life is her autobiogra-

    phy, Lady Sings The Blues.

In 1961, Holiday was elected by

the Readers into the Down Beat

    Hall of Fame

    The Race4 Mayor

    By Cork James

Why not? The filing fee is right andwhether or not the Packet gives us

fair billing, or the fire were sure tocome under from some of our moreliberal adversaries is manageable, were convinced that we are as capa-ble of handling the gig as anyone inthe race. Having that said, Id like tooffer a little run-down on the plan if Imelected.

I want to do whatever I can to returnthis Island to what made it great

before greed turned it into what theNat'l Geographic Traveler called "Aposter child for over-developmentgone wild". I will do everything I can toreturn to the days when commonsense prevailed and the natural beau-ty was preserved and ultimatelybecame the draw that attracted aworld-class traveler that once consid-ered the Island a well kept secret. Atraveler that appreciated the easy

going style of the regional locals andtheir reverance to and protection ofthe natural enviornment such as itwas before greed, over developmentand talk of "build-out" turned the gold-en goose into foie gras. The new Agenda:

1 No Sales tax hike2 Moratorium on all new building/ res-idential or commercial

3 Restaurant/Bar signage ordinancesrewritten4 Hospitality code enforcement lawsrewritten5 Cross Island toll eliminated for yeararound residents6 Referendum to limit Liquor licensesto the current number.

My qualifications are a formal edu-cation in Political Science and a deeprespect for the capitolist system that

kept this Country number one untilpolitical correctness and multicultural-ism turned it into the societal mess wehave today. While I'm stunned thatthere isn't a single woman on Town

Council, it is understandable that any

intelligent woman seeking to serve insuch a capacity would be hesitant toseek a position in the midst of thegood old boy atmosphere such as itis. Just as I don't believe in havingminorities in office simply because itspolitically correct, I don't believe inhaving women in office for the sake ofhaving women in office. Regardlessof race or gender, I believe that hav-ing intelligent, common sensical peo-

ple that take the health and wealth ofthe community to heart is first andforemost. We need intelligent, sensi-tive minds and a little feminine inputhas been sorely missing.

We don't need more developement,we need a moratorium on all futurebuilding. While it may not sound likefree enterprise or the the capitolistmind-set, looking out for the financial

health of all currently invested soundslike capitolism to me. To preserve andnuture this Island as one tourist busi-ness with many facets is the idea.

We don't need any more restau-rants, bars, tennis courts, golf cours-

es, movie theatres or botiques, we

need to be looking out for what wehave. We don't need to be mandatingobsticals such as gambling bans, smoking bans or late night curfews.

Any and everything that effects aviable Industry will be put to the voteif you elect me. For example, any SCcommunity can vote on a moratoriumto limit ABC licenses to the currentnumber. The service industry is andhas been the largest segment of the

population by number for 20 years buthas never been represented.

We are currently making a list ofpotential bar and restaurant ownerswho may be interested in hostingvoter registration events. The first willbe held at the Island Bistro sometimein June and well be posting the datenext month. These registration jamswill be the first of several efforts to

ultimatly get the F&B Industry repre-sented here. Whether you are anowner or a professional staffer, orbelieve that voting in local elections isan excersize in futility, you can alwaysvote againstsomeone. cj
