Island Survival 101Stranded? Here are a few things to keep in mind.

Page 2: Island Survival 101

The Story…You and your team are boating in a yacht in the Pacific Ocean when you are caught in a violent storm. Somehow, you and the boat wash up on a deserted island, but the boat itself is very damaged. The radio is broken and you are so far away from civilization, no ones cell phones work, etc.

So…We can only take 12 items from the yacht to survive. This is our list in order of importance. This list was made with two things in mind.1: We’re trying to survive, not escape.2: The fundamental rule of all deserted islands, they’re never deserted! There always spear-wielding natives ready to eat you!

Water Desalination Device

If you’re stranded, the first thing you’re gonna want is non-fish breath fresh water. A water desalination device is the perfect tool to get you going. It will provide you with clean, fresh drinking water that a fish didn’t drop a load in!

First Aid Kit

Next on our list is a first aid kit. While you’re on an island, someone’s gonna get a boo-boo. Wheater it be a rock, a scorpion, or the natives, you can’t take any chances. Make sure you’re ready for any ‘accident’ that might happen.

Toolbox

A man and his tools are inseparable. Nothing better than the feel of a good hammer in your hand pounding away at something. You need to build shelter, a raft, anything that might help. You got the tools, then survival just becomes another DIY project.

FOOD!

Face it, we all get hungry. And no one wants to bust their butt catching slippery fish or eating roaches. That’s disgusting. Check the ship for any rations, food supplies, anything that can curb that appetite for a good week.

Fishing Gear

Speaking of those slimy slipperies, fish are vital to survival. You catch ‘em, you eat ‘em, like a twisted game of Pokemon. You may want to hack at the salty H2O with a spear, but that only works in the movies. Unless you got some hardware, you ain’t catching no fish.

Lightsaber

This weapon is your life. The choice pick for Jedi and Sith Lords alike, a Lightsaber is the perfect tool to cut, burn, and fight off those natives. And let’s face it, you’ve always wanted one.

Backpack

It may not talk or have a magical map, but it can sure be used for plenty of other things. Wanna explore the jungle? Put all your things in the backpack. Need a storage unit? Done. How about carrying all this stuff from the yacht to the campsite? Backpack baby. It’s a beautiful thing.

Tent

You want to lay outside in the cold and freeze to death? No? Didn’t think so. Bring a tent. It’s surefire shelter in case you don’t have the IQ points to build one, plus it’s nice and comfy inside. It also doesn’t taste like sand.

Rope

Wanna build a hammock? Tie down your tent? Drag a log across the beach? Hang yourself when times get tough? Okay, maybe not that last one, but still. Grab a rope and get the job done. Heck, you can even have a nice game of Tug of War.

Frying Pan

Have you seen Tangled? Then yeah, you know a frying pan can come in mighty handy. Wanna fry up that fish by the fire? Well, you’re not gonna stick your hand in it. Dummy. Oh yeah, and let’s not forget those natives.

Wine Barrel

Being stranded on an island is stressful, we get it. Why not take a load off? Get drunk, pass the day by faster. Or stash them for when you come back and burn them for a ship to see. Hey, worked for Jack Sparrow. Oh, and let’s not forget all that priceless wood left over when the wine’s all gone…

Toothbrushes

No one wants to smell your pirate breath. It’s nasty. Now unless you want all your teeth replaced with shiny gold ones when you get back, I suggest you bring something to keep them clean. Hey, cleanliness before survivalness.
