Vessel and elements are matched for maximum flow and life. Results: Smaller vessel reduces equipment and operation cost.
Depth filters remove contaminant within their matrix. The matrix structure keeps the particles separated, forming a more open and permeable accumulationof contaminant. Depth barriers remove contaminantdue to their physical size and also by particle kineticenergy loss. The particles impact with the barriermatrix and slow down. This enhances their removal.
PECO Engineered Media, specifically designed for filtration, is the key component in the production ofPEACH® liquid elements. PEM media is designed withspecific micron rating and efficiency. Raw fibers ofvarious denier are weighed, blended and thermallybonded into a three dimensional matrix and compressed into a filter sheet.
PEM polyester media is selected for use in the fueldue to its chemical compatibility with unleaded gasoline, diesel and jet fuel.

New technology in Vessel & Element Design Reduces Total Cost of Filtration
PEACH® TECHNOLOGYEngineered For Pipeline FuelsThe PEACH® consists of several lateral sections of PEM media formed into a conical helix pattern. Each section consists of multiple helical wrapped layers.Through thermal bonding, layers are applied to conform and overlap the previous layer, forming a cone...the conical helix structure. This structure results in a gradeddensity pattern that yields high contaminant loading, structural strength, maximum efficacy, and excellent reproducibility.

Schematic
Liquid/Liquid CoalescingLiquid/liquid Phase Separators are mechanicaldevices used primarily for purifying hydrocarbonproducts by the removal of emulsified water.Although phase separator elements are very
efficient at removing solid particles they are notrecommended to be used as a filter. The Peach347 filter is used upstream of the coalescers toremove particulate contaminants.
Refined products such as gasoline,
diesel and jet fuel must be filtered
to remove transmix contaminants i.e…
pipeline scale, rust and discontinuous
phase liquids. The purpose of filtration
is to reduce the maintenance cost for
downstream operation. A Particle filter
and liquid/liquid coalescer are used to
remove solid particles, water and
condensate, respectively. Particle filters
should always be placed upstream of
the coalescer to extend the life of the
coalescer elements.
API REQUIREMENTS
API 1581 is applicable to the final coalescing of jet fuel prior
to being loaded onto an aircraft.Specifically in regard to filtration of
pipeline fuels, certification to API 1581 is not mandatory.
Particle filters are not subject to API 1581.

PECO Filtration System Delivers Clean FuelThe PECO filtration system of PEACH elements and matching vessels have been proven todeliver “CLEAR” fuel under a “Haze Rating System” as shown below. The optical clarity of thefuel after passing through the PECO filtration system is normally rated in category #1 or #2 onthe chart for this haze test.
PECO’s Lab is structured to provide timely responses on the following tests:
• % water using Karl Fischer• Particle counts by size & volume• Identification of contaminant as necessary.• Turbidity• Digital Processing Imaging• Field Test Rig
