Welcome BackWe hope you had a wonderful summer holiday and are ready for a busy Autumn term. A very warm welcome to all our new Reception, Nursery and Pre-school children and their families, and those joining us as an in year admission. We have a busy term ahead of us including Parent Workshops, a Reception - Year 6 trip to Countryside Live, class trips, Harvest Festival, Whole School Come Learn with Me, Parents Evening and that’s all before October Half Term!
A reminder to all parents that children must wear their full school PE kit to participate in PE lessons. If you are unclear about the PE kit requirements for your child, please see the school website or ask in the main office. For health and safety reasons it is important that children are wearing the correct kit, including footwear to participate. Please see the table below detailing which days your child has PE this term. If your child has P.E. in the morning please send them to school in their kit with their school uniform in their PE bag. Children who have PE in the afternoon will come home wearing their kit.

RECEPTION H We have been meeting our new classmates and playing ring games to learn everyone’s name!
NURSERY PM We have been getting to know each other by sharing all the things we love. Miss Williams loves making cards and invited us to have a go at making one for someone we love.
RECEPTION T We are having fun discovering our new learning areas with so many new friends.
NURSERY AM We have been learning to count up to ten. We have had fun signing songs such as 'Five Little Speckled Frogs'

YEAR 2 H We have been learning all about Victorian children and their toys. We have been comparing them to the toys we play with today. We played a game of pick up sticks which was very tense!
YEAR 1 T We have been learning about self portraits and have started our own.
YEAR 2 T We have been working as Historians studying Victorian toys. We used observational techniques to work out which toys were old and which toys were new. It was harder than we expected for some toys!
YEAR 1 H We have been learning about how humans grow and change overtime. We measured ourselves and we’ll do so again in the spring to see how much we’ve grown.

YEAR 5 We have been studying Ancient Greek portraits, analysing what made them interesting and the affect the paintings had on viewers. After developing our sketching techniques we either drew portraits self portraits or portraits of our friends.
YEAR 4 We used Google Expeditions to explore a variety of Roman settings and learn some of the correct vocabulary for Roman places and objects in preparation for our story writing based on Caroline Lawrence's books The Roman Mysteries.
YEAR 6 We have begun researching the types of clothing that was worn during the Stone Age era. Here we are working with our partners to annotate notes for our class presentation.
YEAR 3 We began our history learning about the Vikings. We made fact files about Viking religion and drew how the gods and goddesses look. We then reflected on how the Vikings might have felt about converting to Christianity.
