Expectations and Retention! The easiest way to retain a Soldier is to meet or exceed their expectations. So how can we get after that in the KYARNG? Let’s take a look at how Lee Cockerell did it for Disney. Creating Disney Magic Through Leadership: In 1997, Lee Cockerell "wanted to get everyone on the same page with leadership and expectations. To make sure every guest had the same type of experience, regardless of which park it was, what day of the week it was or anything else... It's simple, hire 'em right, train 'em right and treat 'em right. A lot of companies don't realize, your people are your company.” Everyone is Important: “Create a culture where people matter, and they know they matter. We want you to be the type of leader who gives others lots of recognition, appreciates them, encourages them and develops them as you train them. Remember, everybody matters, and everybody wants to matter... You want people waking up wanting to come to work. Create Magic Through Training: "We train you, we test you and then we enforce the training. That's why when people come, they get a consistent performance. It doesn't matter what day you come, what cast member you run into…you're going to get the same quality and consistency. Disney employees received hours and hours of extensive training before ever stepping foot in front of guests. From a daylong overview of the company's history and traditions, to re-training every six months, employees had clear instructions and expectations from the start.” What Professionalism Looks Like For You (Not Someone Else): “We don't know where everybody came from or what they knew previously. We want everyone on the same page, understanding what professionalism looks like at Disney…Cinderella can't have a tattoo on her neck and Mickey can't smoke while he's talking to your kids. Another one is we have all our cast members leave their phones backstage. We don't want you texting when you should be taking care of guests.” Get Employees On Board: "Focus on the basics instead of getting so complicated that people don't even know what they want to do anymore.
Hire Right: “You must hire better. Prospective Disney employees have to
answer 136 questions online before they even receive the opportunity to fill out
an application and apply for a position. We want to know you, are you high-
energy? Are you motivated? Will you show up to work on time? Do you have
stamina? Can you still have a smile on your face and be pleasant when it's 95
degrees outside and you're selling ice cream to guests?"

TRANSITIONING ARMY CAC HOLDERS OVER TO PIV AUTHENTICATION CERTIFICATES. From the Army Enterprise Service Desk (ASED): DISA is transitioning Army CAC holders over to PIV authentication certificates from October 2019 through February 2020, which changes the CAC certificate you select to access Enterprise Email, DEPS/Sharepoint and other DISA services. If you are experiencing issues accessing your Enterprise Email, DEPS/SharePoint, or other DISA hosted services that you normally use your email certificate for access, you may have been transitioned to use the Authentication certificate. Try selecting your Authentication Certificate instead of your E-Mail Certificate. If you don’t have an Authentication certificate as an option to select, you may have to activate it. You do not need to contact AESD to activate your PIV, even when issued a new CAC. Visit the following link for instructions. https://www.milsuite.mil/book/docs/DOC-701294

IPERMS IPERMS 2.0 released having a plethora of issues. A large number of these issues have been identified and are being worked at the NGB and above level. If you have issues with the system, take a screen shot of the problem and send through your chain of command to G1 SIB Section. If you require access, ensure you have completed the required training and send your 2875 through SARA. We are currently working to the get brigade and battalion level accesses complete and will soon move on to battery and company level accesses. We appreciate your patience while the system goes through this time of transition. Point of Contact is SFC Mackey at (502) 607-1156 or [email protected]
Any SIBXHub issues are required to submitted on a DPI Service request to create a help desk ticket on the USPFO website or https://ngky-uspfoweb/dpihelp/newhelp.asp
Any IPPS-A issues will require a CRM help ticket. The more screen shots and
explanation you can give regarding the issue, the better they will be better able to rectify the problem.
Please use the SIB Section mailbox for all requests/inquiries:
Education & Incentives
With IPSS-A coming on line we have seen some affect in GIMS with delays in
data feeds, Soldiers not getting training credit from AIT, transfers, etc. Please
keep this in mind when working new contracts or working your payment bins.
We have also seen new UICs and hierarchy changes within the system, if you
are running into access problems let us know and work with your BN/BDE S1
that have higher access levels to take care of the Soldier.
We currently have over 175 State TA application from Oct that need unit
validation. Please validate or if the Soldier is not in good standing make sure
to counsel the Soldier and mark “reject” to complete the process. This is
important to be completed before the add/drop date at the schools so Soldiers
have time to react to the amount of money they could be held liable for. Let’s
take care of our Soldiers.
Soldiers who receive a denial letter from the VA, but and should be receiving benefits can contact SSG Boone to correct their eligibility rating code with the VA. This will correct the code and send the Soldier an acceptance letter. Should a Soldier forget to file they can file for back pay at the rate for that period, for any assistance Contact SSG Boone, our State GI Bill Manager to fix [email protected].
Education & Incentives will be working with units, BNs, and BDEs to attend their SRP events in order to assist their Soldier’s with Incentives and School needs. MSC S1, please route request for SRP support through the G1 Operations Section to schedule. If you have any questions please make contact with the Education NCOIC [email protected]
Office of the State Surgeon
PHAs: Schedule IPRs with SFC Ragsdale or CPT Yonts to de-conflict show-times, unit
requirements and throughput. Ensure all Soldiers complete their online portion. Below are
dates and locations of mass events. Soldiers that miss their unit PHA can be scheduled with
other mass events but prior coordination should be made. Individual PHA’s are conducted at
BNGC weekly Tuesday - Thursday, 0830-1500 and can be scheduled by contacting
[email protected] or SGT Jamie Pungirum at 502-607-1468.
MASS EVENTS:
06-08 December at BNGC
10-12 January at WHFRTC
21-23 February at WHFRTC
19-22 March at WHFRTC
Influenza
Flu vaccines have been issued to units and are available at BNGC and WHFRTC clinics Tuesday-Thursday 0830-1500. All personnel are required to be vaccinated NLT 15 January 2020. If you were vaccinated at a civilian clinic or provider, please bring documentation to your Readiness NCO.
Get yourself and your family vaccinated!
A yearly flu vaccine is the first and most important step in protecting against flu viruses. Protect Yourself. Protect Your Family. Get Vaccinated.
Stop the spread
Take every day preventative actions to help stop the spread of flu viruses! Avoid close contact with sick people, avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth, cover your coughs and sneezes, wash your hands often (with soap and water).
68W Sustainment

If you have questions please contact G1-OSS OPS NCO, 1SG LeeAnn Baker at (502) 607-1151 or [email protected] or SSG Aaron Wallace (502) 607-1934 or [email protected].
