Principal funders

Department for Communities Minister Paul Givan MLA launched the 2016/2017 Volunteering Small Grants Programme. The Programme provides funding to support volunteer organisations across Northern Ireland. The application is for funding for a Small Grant to support local volunteer involvement. Any grant awarded will be for a maximum of £1,200 and will directly support the key objectives of the Department for Communities Volunteering Strategy and Action Plan. Examples of grant awards would be for meeting the volunteer out-of-pocket expenses of an organisation, providing travel, training or equipment costs for volunteers etc. Note: This grant is only eligible for expenditure incurred from the date of award until 31 March 2017. Closing date for applications 12noon Friday 29th July 2016 Minister Givan said: “I am fully aware of the importance of volunteering to individuals, to communities and to society as a whole. Programmes such as this in association with our delivery partners demonstrate my Department‟s commitment to nurturing the ethos of volunteering.” The overall aim of the Programme includes increasing and encouraging volunteer activity and diversity by groups under-represented in the volunteering population and promoting innovative methods of supporting new and existing volunteers. Further information on the Grant visit http://www.lcdi.co.uk/smallgrants/ including eligibil-ity and how to apply is available.

Since 2009, the Provident Good Neighbour Community Programme has existed to financially support community organisations which best demonstrate a „good neighbour‟ approach to their local community. The Provident Good Neighbour team is continually looking for inspiring projects that need a helping hand to take them to the next level in helping their community and you have the opportunity to nominate projects close to your heart. A panel will shortlist the top four projects and then put it to the public to decide who gets a lump sum donation. You can now nominate a good cause in Northern Ireland to receive Good Neighbour funding. Key Dates:

14th August: Nomination submission deadline

29th August: Voting opens

26th September: Winners announced For further details please visit www.providentgoodneighbour.co.uk
