A Big Thank You to Bowls Canterbury and the Coaches for organising the Junior 5’s Classic 2011. This started on the 2nd October and was held over five Sundays with the last two Sundays seeing playoffs between the different clubs present.

Our first team coaching was held at Centre Green in Fendalton and involved different techniques of bowling. The following week, we were meant to play at St Albans/Merivale Bowling Club. We turned up - coaching was called off due to the weather. Those of us who were there played a friendly 1-hour game - we didn’t get up early on a Sunday morning to not play bowls.... I missed the third session :-(

Play offs were held at the Morrison Avenue Bowling Club and Beckenham Bowling Club. We all did our best but there will always be winners and losers. The important thing is what we learnt from these coaching lessons and the wonderful people we met during these sessions.

Hopefully, by the time the next coaching sessions come around, we would have bettered, if not perfected, our game.

Keep on rolling
