A company called TOMSShoes is working through thegenerosity of others to provideshoes to children in needaround the world. For everypair of shoes that TOMS sells,a pair of shoes is delivered to achild who does not have them.

TOMS Shoes was foundedin 2006 on the idea of Onefor One: every pair of shoes

purchased through TOMSwould give another pair ofshoes to a child in need. Thisallows TOMS to grow as asustainable business ratherthan using only fundraisers forsupport.

Grand View will bepromoting TOMS throughtwo events. The rst, A DayWithout Shoes, occurred

yesterday, when people acrosscampus went barefoot. Somewent barefoot for a day, someonly for an hour. The point ofgoing barefoot was to spreadawareness about the impactthat a pair of shoes can haveon a childs life.
