Dear Reader Earlier in the year the idea was for this issue to celebrate all things summery! Hmm – here in the UK that has been quite a leap of faith! Along with other countries experiencing extreme weather conditions we have had the wettest drought ever! One just has to smile at our very British luck! The obvious answer is that announcing a drought and hosepipe ban will ensure a flood situation just as buses arrive in 3s! So we paddle on and pretend all is sunny and the seaside and the garden are the places to be. Our members have come up with some beautiful work showing all sorts of sun, sea and land reflections. We have a look at outdoor eating complete with wasps and predatory seagulls, a brief history of Naval uniforms and some fascinating natural history. This issue’s projects are all holiday related and will ensure a good time in the garden or on the beach for your miniature family and friends. Do write and tell us what you would like to see in forthcoming issues. We have listened to your requests to make project backgrounds plain to facilitate printing – this was quite a wrench for some of us as we do love our twiddly bits in formatting! And, as always, if you have an idea, an article, anything to share please do get in touch with any one of the editorial team. If you are worried about presentation please don’t be. One of the team will help you do it or simply accept a draft and make it beautiful. Just get in touch. Speaking of whom – thank you team! You have been magnificent!
