E. EXISTING CONDITIONS: Only the areas described in the Project Scopehave been field verified. "Field Verified" means that existing partitions havebeen partially located, most of the M.E.P. items have been located, and most ofthe architectural elements located. Areas that are concealed or otherwise notaccessible have not been verified. Other areas in the building, not in the ProjectScope, have not been field verified. The partitions shown in the renovated areasare derived from Owner provided documents or visual field verifications.
F. The note "NO WORK IN THIS AREA" is a general statement. Some M.E.P.work, and architectural work may be required in these areas to complete asystem to operational status, for minor renovation, for touch up work, or forverification of existing conditions (i.e. previously inaccessible areas) pertinentto the Scope of the Work. Verification of these conditions may or may notimpact the Project and will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
G.The Contractor shall schedule all utility shutdowns with one week minimumadvance notice to building personnel. Shutdowns shall be grouped and plannedin order to minimize any necessary down time.
H.The Contractor shall construct temporary partitions and overhead protection sothat pedestrians may pass through a corridor at all times during constructionunless other arrangements have been agreed upon by the Owner in writing.

A. PARTITION TYPES: Numbered references on the plans at partitionsrefer to the "Partition Type". The suffix "A", "B", or "C" following thepartition type number indicates the width of the partition construction asdescribed in the detail.
B. MOISTURE RESISTANT GYPSUM: Provide moisture resistant gypsumboard on all walls in the toilet rooms, janitor's closets, within 24" of allpublic drinking fountains and plumbing fixtures, and all partitionsscheduled to receive ceramic tile in "Non Wet" areas. Refer to the FloorPlans and Room Finish Schedules for location of these walls.
C. FIRE RESISTANT GYPSUM: Fire and/or Smoke partition ratings areindicated on the floor plans by dashed lines and notations, as shown in thisexample. Fire rated partition construction must conform to GypsumAssociation (GA) designs, Underwriters Laboratory (UL) tested designs orother tests approved by governing code authorities. Fire assembly designnumbers (i.e. GA WP 1200, UL U420) noted on Partition Details shall befollowed when a fire rated assembly is indicated.
D. CEMENT BOARD: In certain locations cement board may be specified in"wet areas" and "kitchen areas" as indicated on the partition details.
E. PARTITION FRAMING for openings and intersections should beperformed in accordance with framing details provided on Sheet A10.1.
F. INSTALL BLOCKING at all wall mounted railings, toilet and serviceaccessories, wall-mounted millwork and casework, system furniturelocations and wall mounted door bumpers. Provide blocking behindgypsum board locations where horizontal wood trim is to be installed.
